Thanks for the kind words Tuggernuts.
I did not re-gear for 37s, and so far it seems to be working just fine. The Mojave comes with 4.10 gears, which seem to be just barely enough for 37s. I suspect 3.73s would not be as forgiving, and a manual transmission would not be as forgiving. My...
It is a Teraflex 2 1/2" performance spacer lift for a 4 door JL, to which I added a Teraflex adjustable forged front track bar, and Teraflex Sport (fixed length) lower control arms. The performance spacer lift includes 2 1/2" front spring spacers, bump stop spacers, and shock extension...
Testing out tire clearance with the 37s on my Mo Jave today.
Room to spare, no rub anywhere.
Brake lines have plenty of slack, and shocks have plenty of compression and extension left. No problems from the Teraflex 2.5" lift.
I already have a diesel Ram, which is an amazing truck. If a diesel gladiator is half the truck, of a Ram it would be an improvement. I'm happy with my Mo Jave for now though, and I like everything about it except the anemic engine. Instead of the diesel, when a 392 is released I will jump...
Wheel width will affect offset recommendations, but on a 9" wide wheel anything less than a +25 offset should be free of rubbing. I'm running a +1 offset on my 17x9 wheels, and my 12.50 width tires stick out past the fender by 1 1/2". I tried to find wheels with +18 or +12 offset, which would...
First of all, to answer the OP's question, NO, I would not remove the hitch receiver to go four wheeling. You gain a fraction in departure angle, but you lose a solid steel contact point, and instead have a plastic contact point that is going to be easily damaged. You want the hitch receiver...
I traded a Rubicon for a Mojave. The Mojave is much more plush riding, but also more controlled, better damped, and has noticeably less body roll in turns. This applies as much at low speed as it does at high speed. The Mojave will definitely give you a better ride, $7000 worth of shocks...
The lift on my Mojave is a Teraflex 2.5" Performance Spacer Lift, plus the extra parts to work with a Mojave. I used the 2 1/2" front spring spacers, bumpstop extensions, and shock extension brackets. Then I added a Teraflex adjustable track bar and Teraflex Sport lower control arms. Rear...
I did some exploring in southwest Utah today, near the UT/NV border. Here is a picture crossing Cougar Spar Pass (elevation 7667 ft). It looked like a nice day, until I opened the door and the wind yanked the door from my hands. Temperature was 20 degrees, and wind was at least 30 to 40 mph...
There is not enough difference in weight between those tires to matter. I considered the Nitto, Cooper, and BFG when I chose 37s two weeks ago.
The BFGs were my top choice, but they were on a nationwide backorder, and my tire store had no idea when they would be available. Coopers came...
