Ordered Friday night and the Warn is due tomorrow! That's much faster shipping than I expected. Also got a shipping confirmation from Metalcloak, though it hasn't been picked up by Fed Ex yet. Having a 4x4 shop do the front (and winch) and I'll do the rear. Should have a pretty sweet "What did...
I assumed you would keep the unit with no power, then run it from the remote when needed. Though I suppose it being in a "plugged in" state is really no different from my microwave or coffee maker in the sense that it's not "on" until turned on. So if I run it direct, I have 4 switches I'm not...
Interested in seeing anybody's extra lighting who's answering this thread too, if you have them. My personal "what should I buy for my Gladiator today" thread. On one hand, the less my wife will notice, the better. On the other, she's going to notice the new bumpers (and see me working on it)...
Good to know. I have a lot of research ahead of me, clearly! But the bumper is 3-4 weeks out, so have plenty of time to read up watch 1000 YouTube videos.
Edited to add, @Slojo if you have a photo handy, I'd love to see your Gladiator with KCs
I finally have a winch and steel bumpers coming, and figured the winch should be the #4 switch. So that's one down, so may as well fill in another 1 or 3 when I get inside there. Considered some old school KC lights on the brush guard. With these LEDs, I really can't say this vehicle needs more...
You know you're getting old when you've never heard of an online marketplace! Didn't see one with synthetic rope, but their search engine is a bit wonky. Searched winches and got a couple of winches, toy trucks, and leotards.
Called them this morning to explain my error and need to add a fairlead and they were fantastic to work with. They're adding a fixed fairlead to my bumper and didn't even charge me! I'm going synthetic, but still undecided on brand and particulars. Seeing as this is likely to be used once a year...
Uh oh. I'll call them in the morning and see what they say. They have 4 different styles for different winches and I haven't decided yet is my biggest problem! Hopefully since they haven't begun the shipping process yet they can help me through it.
I just ordered Metalcloak bumpers, and I'm torn between getting a piece of sheet metal fabricated and powder coated to cover where the winch would go, or just buying a winch. I don't plan on any severe wheeling until this truck has been beat up by life a little. But the prepper side of me thinks...
Bit more of a drive, but I'd price that out with Travis at Tri-Cities in NC also. Last I saw he was still doing 6% plus 1% more with FCA control number. If nothing else, it's a negotiating number for other dealers.
I remember back in the 80's Playboy used to have a "Blondes. Brunettes, and Redheads" edition, and even though I'm a sucker for a pretty redhead, I realized that the color was just an accent. The blonde or brunette super model might be more up my alley once all things are considered. You really...
The video for the front pushed me over the edge. I tinker with firearms a bit, and there's no worse feeling than bringing a disassembled gun in a shoebox to a gunsmith. Except maybe pulling into the 4x4 shop in a Jeep with the front bumper in the bed. I know it could go smoothly, I just know the...
After a closer look and actually watching the video, this has inspired me to just bring the Jeep to the 4x4 shop when the bumpers come. Their labor rates are pretty reasonable and I think it would be easier for someone who has done this before. I take some level of pride in doing most Jeep stuff...
