Ordered 4/15 and got my build sheet yesterday too (it's a manual as well). Now curious to see how quickly it will be shipped. Looks like yours won't have long to travel - mine will be a bit more so I'm expecting another delay.
Man, I wish the Appalachians had peaks like that. I think that's a bit further west - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Alabama+Hills/@36.2480048,-117.6018847,7.78z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x80bf8577fd0639cf:0xe6a7dbf941346789!8m2!3d36.61!4d-118.1
The one trend for those currently being built seemed to be sport s or sport base models with manuals. So batching by trim lines and transmission types, no matter the order timing? Other than that it’s anybody's guess.
They must be doing a batch of Base manuals all together. Mine is a manual Sport Base Sting Gray ordered 4/15 and FCA chat said it's in Trim right now. Not sure if the estimated ship date of this Friday will hold true or not.
I've had the same truck on order since mid-April (finger's crossed it will be here by the end of June) - looks great. A big factor in choosing the Base was the ease of removing the doors which I want to do quite a bit.
From what I understand, the transmission as well as all the other...
Wow, that's crazy. Just chatted with them too and my order from April 14th is in sequence with a 6/19 ship date. Wonder why yours got through so quickly.
On a side note, any reason why a chat rep wouldn't provide the actual code (D1, etc.)? I specifically asked for the alpha code but she said...
I ordered my MT 4/15. Heard from the dealer yesterday and now have a VIN and a target ship date of 6/21. Hope that means they're moving forward with them.
Yeah, also got a call this morning that the dealer was doing the recall on the manuals they had on the lot and we could do the deal today. But since I've placed my order on a Sting Gray that I got to spec as I want, I'm going to wait.
Thanks for the thoughts. Spent some time last night seriously considering the auto but still want a manual. It's not about it being better or the gearing - but about the experience/engagement when I'm driving as well as having a vehicle to teach my kids how to drive a manual. So I'll be waiting...
Yeah, your timing was pretty good. Mine, not so much.
You snagged exactly what I want - a Sting Gray manual. I'm open to trim level (if it's on the lot and I can get a good deal) but prefer a Base Sport.
Someday... someday...
I know, right? According to them though, whether ordered or on the lot, the same incentives would apply at delivery. I guess it all depends on when each one would be ready to sell and for what incentives there are at that time.
I've been considering a Gladiator for months and a few weeks ago my local dealer dropped off a manual for an extended test drive. I loved it and decided to pull the trigger on the truck even though it was my second choice colorwise. However, my salesman said they couldn't sell existing in-stock...
