Yeah, I watched a rerun of The Price is Right from 1982, and they showed a Jeep, and it looked the same as they do today.
It was also $10,000! So it looks like they were even more expensive back then. Most cars they give away in that time period were in the $6,000 range!
That thing is sweet-looking just as it sits. It's a great color, and I think those wheels and rims are perfect for it. Fill up the wells nice and look on the money to me.
Isn't the current size on there considered a 35" tire"? I think that is a great look without all the issues that come...
A Jeep is a pretty unique vehicle if you buy what I consider the original style like the Gladiator and Wranglers. For years I have wanted one but just couldn't justify the cost of them compared to what you could get in other vehicles. It has removable top panels, removable doors, a robust...
Back in the late 80's bought it for $150 off an old timer who bought it new in the 60's. I can't remember the exact year but I know it was a 1960's model. 3 on the tree with overdrive. 2 wheel drive and no power anything! I swore I would never own another after driving this thing through Upstate...
They really need a better handle on their marketing. I am getting offers to reactivate on vehicles I haven't owned in 3 years. The money they waste on mistargeted mailings and such is crazy.
I find it humorous when I get these mailings thinking of all the money they are wasting, and, with some...
Yeah, the fuel savings on an individual basis is probably minimal. I saw a video on the Ram e-tourque system and they showed this and said this is the amount of fuel saved in 90 seconds.
Individually it doesn't look like much but imagine all the cars in the bottom image sitting in traffic and...
I think a big part of the problem is those if us who grew up driving without it. 45 years and no ESS and now this big change and it's human nature to resist change.
I remember when seat belt laws came into effect and the same discussions were had. My son was born after seat belt laws and to...
Sometimes I wonder how I ever made it to 60 :)
My dad driving us around in brutal upstate NY winters, and when it got bad us kids jumped out and locked in the hubs. My dad was smart! Have a healthy 10-year-old get out in the snow while he stays nice and warm inside. As a treat, I got to shift...
I guess what we would need to see for a true non-guessing theory is a video of you driving in your driving style.
When I was a teenager 43 years ago, I had a 1966 Mustang with a 3 speed. I just loved to drop it into second from third at about 45 MPH, drop the clutch, and listen to the tires...
I would check batteries and voltage. Today cars can really act weird just from low voltage. So many threads over on the Ram forum I was in where all the lights lit up and really strange behavior. Battery fixes a big portion of them. Low voltage wreaks havoc on the modules getting all kinds of...
I can see how someone would think the starter would wear out quicker, constantly starting at every stoplight. I have no doubt they are designed to last, and the engineers have thought it through.
Now I had a Dodge Ram etorque with the auto start and stop, and it was a very smooth system and...
I always wanted a Jeep but would never buy one due to the cost vs what you get. I am fortunate to have a 1/2 ton diesel Full-size GMC Denali pickup also that I bought for towing the camper, but I wanted a fun open-air vehicle. I'd look at Jeeps that were $55K with crank windows, rubber floors...
