Since it's a hit and run it will be covered under collision, not uninsured motorist. There is no way to know if the driver was or was not insured since he drove off. Chances are good that he was NOT insured, but until he is found and investigated it is an unknown.
How does the Maximus-3 tow bar mount attach to the Blue Ox tow bar - do you have any pics of it connected? Also, how does the Currie base plate compare to the Blue Ox base plate as far as ground clearance? I'm trying to decide how I want to go.
I've also looked at the Rock Hard tow bar bracket...
Generally speaking, the brake system on pretty much EVERY vehicle is designed based on the GVWR of the vehicle - that's why it is recommended that trailers have their own brake system.
I take exception to the timeline a bit: our 1988 Wrangler was most definitely made by AMC in their Windsor plant - it was the last year for the AMC brand, not 1986 as the timeline shows.
So, those of us lucky enough to have a Gator truck now have a "limited edition" truck? Will that impact resale value (not that I'm thinking about selling!)?
I'm in the same boat: we tow our 2017 JKU using a Blue Ox base plate connected to an NSA Ready Brute Elite tow bar. I'm trying to decide if I want to put a Blue Ox base plate on the JT, or go with an appropriate bumper with Blue Ox adapters. I know the base plate would be in the $450 range -...
This vehicle definitely elicits comments from the public - but then my wife and I seem to gravitate towards vehicles that do that. When we got married back in 1971 she had just bought a brand new AMC Gremlin (anybody remember them?)! A funny-looking car, but it preformed quite well - we used it...
If you wanted a Challenger you paid that price - unless you knew somebody. my daughter-in-law has a cousin who owns some dealerships so when our son got back from deployment in 2008 with a pocketful of cash he was able to get one without the dealer markup.
Let's see: bought it about a month ago and have 800 or so miles on it now. The only issue I've had is every time I see something that I want to buy for it my wife says "Get me one for my Wrangler too!"
Being a 2-Jeep family can get expensive!
When we bought our 2017 JKU back in September one of the papers we had to sign was one that said to not use tire chains on the vehicle. It said that cable chains were okay, but regular chains were a no-no. Fast forward several months and we buy a 2020 Gladiator to add to the stable - the use of...
Ours Sport S is completely stock and when cruising on a level highway the dash display will report 28-29 mpg. Add in a slight incline, or a head wind, and it'll drop to 20-22 mpg.
We bought ours from Normandin last month and it was pretty painless. We showed the sales guy the unit we wanted from their website and he grabbed the key so we could check it out. We didn't try negotiating because we felt the asking price was reasonable: MSRP was $42,505 and they had it listed...
