Multiple states are working to prohibit the sale of new, ICE powered vehicles. I can't figure out if that includes SUVs and pickup trucks. I think this is also a big, "No bueno!" as I prefer carrot over stick to bring about change. I think it's very likely those objectives will be postponed and...
I intend no offense, but if someone smokes inside a vehicle, the inside of that vehicle reeks. No amount of air freshener can change that. I know it's a very controversial and delicate subject. Over the years smokers have yelled at me and called me a liar. I get it. They can't smell it. If...
I really don't see a need for an air freshener. If something is making my vehicle smell foul, I will simply remove it.
I've never smoked, but whenever I've ridden in vehicles owned by smokers, they reeked of smoke and air freshener. :)
With gasoline at $5.00 a gallon and diesel over $6.00, why wouldn't people obsess about MPGs?
I just got new tires for my JT. I was tempted to get 35s, but didn't want to kill my MPGs or switch out the gears.
That's actually a very popular opinion. But I love my roof top tent. The first time I used it, there was a torrential downpour in the middle of the night. I woke up and thought, "Oh no. I hope the tent doesn't flood. Oh, wait a minute. I'm six feet off the ground!". Then I went back to sleep.
Most of the Jeeps I see in Colorado are pretty well-built for the trail. Every once in a while, I see a vehicle like the one pictured and I think, "Dude, it's Colorado. You should know better." Then I remember, "Oh yeah. This dude is from Texas".
I grew up in Orange County, California. My dad had a buddy who built an early 70s Jeep with a Chevrolet 350 and a four speed. It also had open headers and a roll cage. We went with him to Pismo Beach. He took my brother and me for a ride in that Jeep and it was an absolute BLAST! After blasting...
I prefer a manual trans. My 1970 Mustang Mach 1 came from the factory with a 3-speed manual (which is really weird) and I replaced it with a 5-speed manual. Wouldn't even consider a classic car with an auto.
For my Gladiator, I'm quite happy with the automatic, thank you. It's the best...
Your area may be different, but security cameras aren't much help. Most police departments don't have the resources to actively investigate personal vehicle thefts. You simply file a report on the police web site and use that for the insurance claim. That's it. Whether or not you have video, it...
I simply have a TV near my front window that plays Fox News 24/7. Potential thieves see this, assume I own at least one AR-15 and leave me alone. :CWL:
Indeed, I've heard it all before. To repeat, I wouldn't lose any sleep over thieves getting shot. But actually shooting thieves will get you into a lot of very hot water with a jury. You'd better hope that jury is merciful.
No kidding, years ago a guy not far from where I live shot an intruder...
Such tough guy fantasies get perpetuated in other forums. Unfortunately, it will ultimately result in tragedy. Example: Some tough guy sees someone trying to open the doors to his Gladiator, parked in his driveway, one night. He fires four 9mm rounds at the perpetrator and later learns he...
Sorry, tough guy, this is a fantasy. You can legally shoot someone who breaks into your home while you are in your home. This doesn't mean you can shoot someone for trying to steal a vehicle. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't lose any sleep over thieves getting shot. The law has a different...
There's nothing wrong with running 0W-20 oil in an engine designed for 0W-20 oil. Over the decades of being a car guy, I have heard many myths and misconceptions:
Myth: The heavier the oil, the better!
Reality: Heavy oil is not better oil. Heavy oil is appropriate in an engine with loose...
