  1. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

You're right about the weight distribution. My Tacoma has the 6' bed so the Gladiator should be better but I'm still loading the bed with weight. I've driven light trucks in snow enough to appreciate the benefits of about 300lbs in the bed.
  2. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

R2 is at least 12yrs old. Designed ground up to be studless. They embed Diamond-hard particles to mimic studs. Very effective.
  3. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

your local tire dealer is an idiot and you should run, not walk, away. Hakka r2 SUV and now r3 SUV are designed to be studless.
  4. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

Sounds like that would get me out of a snow bank. I also want to be able to crawl through deep snow. When we get over 30cm I currently find it difficult to maintain stability. Locking front and rear seemed like the best overall solution.
  5. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

Just the cosmetics. Keeping the meat. good info above. Truck is already coming and I did decide that low gearing and front and rear lockers are more important than the smoother ride on the Mojave. Did not however consider the softer susp dragging down the bed as I often also need tow about 3k...
  6. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

^^^ so my understanding is the differential on the non Rubicon models works automatically and in conjunction with the 4WD system so what would I need to figure out ? I currently have LSD and 4x4 on my Tacoma and I’m not overly impressed with its ability to crawl out of difficult situations...
  7. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 on Hakka r2 SUV (can’t run studded here). I have the bed loaded with patio stone for additional traction. Find this helps allot on pickups.
  8. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

Yes I debated limited slip vs lockers. limited slip won’t pull me out of a deep snow bank. I do some serious snow driving as I coordinate snow and ice management during storms for my business
  9. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

locking front and rear axles I live in a pretty upscale area. Cars get taken out of driveways and put onto shipping containers within hrs. These aren’t junkies looking for change. regardless I like my vehicles as low key as possible. I realize Rubicon isn’t a super special trim but in my area...
  10. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

I really like the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and the Hakka r3’s for my driving which is either pavement or snow and they both only come in 285/70-17 so thats as big as I go.
  11. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

you're probably right. Once I get the hood stickers and the tires/wheels changed it wont likely bother me. I was looking at a TRD PRO and a Raptor but couldn't get past all the badging. Besides the Gladiator should be more capable. Cant wait to get it out in the snow
  12. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

2 reasons.Theft and not a fan of look at me stuff on vehicles Different how? something like TRD fake scoops? I can live with minor variances. not going to swap hoods.
  13. Stealth Rubicon Gladiator

So I will be picking up my Rubicon Gladiator in a couple of weeks. My goal is to not advertise its Rubiconness for various reasons. I bought this for dealing with snow so the first thing to go will be the telltale stock wheels/tires which I am replacing with 285/70-17 Michelin Defender LTX M/S...
