  1. Wheel Load Rating

Good question. You usually want a wheel load rating that is at least 1/2 of the highest GAWR. I just looked at my 21 Mojave, and the rear GAWR is the highest at 3750 lbs, which means the wheel load rating should be at least 3750/2 = 1875 lbs.
  2. U-Joint Upgrade

A clunk from the rear is fairly common especially with the factory Tru-Lok rear diffs. Both my JKR and JTM have a little clunk when going from D to R or vice versa and also if you are in a low gear and are aggressively on/off the throttle. If you have Selec-Trac, your front axles will be...
  3. Mopar Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 Ecobox

I was looking at the 2022 Mopar Vehicle Lubricant & Chemical Catalog and noticed that it shows p/n 68524002AA for Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 in an Ecobox. An Ecobox contains 24 quarts. So far, so good. BUT, when I look up the price for 68524002AA at store.mopar.com or any of the online parts...
  4. Do mud flaps make a difference (protect my driver's door handle from road grit/mud)?

I first had the Regular/Long RokBlokz, but I wanted a bit more width due to the wider track of the Mojave. So I 'upgraded' to the XL/Long RokBlokz, but I trimmed both the width and length. They ended up a little wider than the Regular/Long, but the same length as the Regular/Long. And, as a...
  5. Stumbled upon this... Autostop Eliminator

I see that you found it. I've been using it for about 6 months and it works perfectly. I'm very happy with it.
  6. Stumbled upon this... Autostop Eliminator

Just get the Smart Stop/Start. Send a PM to Steve @SmartStopStart.com and he'll give you a code for a forum member discount and maybe even free shipping. That's what I did and I'm very happy with my purchase.
  7. Am I crazy for thinking I want a Gladiator?

I most recently went from a 2018 Golf R (too small) to a 2019 Audi Allroad with a mild tune, to my 21 JT Mojave. I really enjoy the relaxed 'vibe' of driving the JT. There never seems to be any rush to get anywhere, never the need to pass someone on the highway, never the feeling of going slow...
  8. Drive Shaft Phasing

I guess you can choose to argue about just about anything. Either way, they are talking about installing a driveshaft onto components that it has never been mated to before. There are no alignment or 'clocking' requirements. And, for the record, when I stated "The bolt pattern is...
  9. Drive Shaft Phasing

There is a V95 recall for the rear driveshaft on some 2020 Gladiators. In this recall, there are instructions for installing a new rear driveshaft. There is no requirement to install the shaft in any particular orientation to the differential input or the transfer case output. The bolt...
  10. When to do first service ??

IMO, this isn't a good enough reason to allow the dealership to perform basic services. Buy the things you need, then keep the receipts and a record of when you did each service. Too bad you weren't closer - I'd tell you to stop by and we'd knock out whatever you wanted to do.
  11. Mojave Rear Squeak

I noticed a slight squeaking from all of my Mojave shock shafts, but I could only hear it in the garage, engine off, and pushing up & down on the suspension by hand. I never heard any shaft squeaks when driving. If you decide to lube the shock shafts, I recommend using silicone grease only (...
  12. Metallic whirring sound — parking brake cable

I tracked down a very annoying whirring/whining noise to the e-brake cables as well. I ended up removing the cable bracket from the top of the rear differential housing and isolating the cables. It must be that the e-brake cables are transmitting & amplifying noise/vibration from the rear end...
  13. Pizza Cutters - 35X10R17 Skinny Tires installed

... because people keep parroting that all E rated tires rough riding, so that must mean it's true.
  14. Rear Window Leak - Difficulty with Dealerships

If you are handy, you can fix it yourself: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/leaking-rear-window-fixes-for-those-who-dont-want-to-play-dealer-roulette-wait-2-months-have-their-top-scratched-seats-ripped-etc.66403/
  15. What Axle Fluid for Gladiator Rubicon Diesel w/ Tow Package?

There is only 1 lubricant specified for your application. Your rear axle is a M220. You could look at your build sheet to see what your sales code is.
  16. What Axle Fluid for Gladiator Rubicon Diesel w/ Tow Package?

Recommended fluids are all listed in your Owners Manual. As seen below, the 2021 manual makes no differentiation for the Tow Package.
  17. 3.6L Pentastar V6 Engine Failure

Throw in big tires, a re-gear and DIY maintenance and it is even tougher. I tried to get a goodwill repair on a Subaru. Had bought 5 of them from the same dealer, but never used them for service. All DIY maintenance done per schedules, all with receipts, including oil changes, air filters...
  18. is this the right oil?

Gotcha. I thought you were looking for the parts guy to tell you the correct fluid part number. Nothing wrong with trying to get a good price on the Mopar fluid. IMO, using the genuine Mopar fluid is the way to go. That way there is no debate abouth whether or not the fluid is correct.
  19. 3.6L Pentastar V6 Engine Failure

I learned something new today. 3.6 Pentastar = "Sludge Brick" according to the interwebs. Correct. Most manufacturers could care less how loyal you are. If you bought a bunch of vehicles from the same dealership, then the dealership may try to help out on your behalf. But when it...
