So I don't remember seeing this answer and I've been following the complete thread. Have we determine that the controller needs to mount as received or as shown in the awesome directions.
Why remove it at all? Do soft top owners remove them when winter hits. Not understanding the reason to remove durring winter months. Hell if mines implodes some day then time for a new one. Like I'd live that long...... Just saying leave it on.
This is the first Jeep I ever owned that even had a defroster. LOL
Maybe Jeep will do a fix/recall by creating a diverter that will just snap on/into the existing square holes. Or maybe aftermarket support? Done correctly would look factory.

And no one is touching my Jeep but me! Free oil changes.... No way no thanks! Not worth the risk of untrained service monkeys screwing something up and who knows what cheap oil and filters.

I have the most basic base Sport Max tow you can get.

Just received my WIX air filter today.
It's identical in every way as the stock filter. Color, design, every detail down to letter font. Does Jeep use WIX for their filters?

It's crazy how prices will fluctuate. Just day to day. I saw a low of $130 to a high of $260.
Not sure why the price varies so much. So far no complaints on my set. Going on 4,000 miles.
