Thank you for all the replies. The insurance thing really ticks me off. I called them BEFORE I bought the rig. While an extra $40 per month may seem like chump change, over the course of a year that is an extra car payment. I consider that big. And they have been helping themselves to my money...
Thank you for the reply. I don't have any other debt, so I'm not buried or anything. It's just that I really hemmed and hawed over this thing, took the leap, then have been struck a bit with buyer's remorse lately. I guess I was just wondering if anybody else felt it. It may go away. I do love...
Anybody been through it? I'm feeling it the last couple of days. While I think I got a good price, it's a lot of money. I felt this once before after buying a brand new 2012 Ram Laramie 3500. I ended up selling it off after two years and 45,000 miles, losing $5k + tt&l, which wasn't too bad for...
Well, that's what my Gladiator is - a grocery getter/toy. When I need a truck, I get in my 1 ton diesel.
My opinion on all the new diesels laden with the excessive emissions equipment (DPF/SCR) is that they are terrible for urban environments, stop and go, and just running around. They load up...
I'm a diesel guy. I have a Ram 3500 with the venerable Cummins turbo diesel engine, my 4th. I have a John Deere diesel tractor (Yanmar). I have the 3.6 Pentastar and I LOVE it. Slug? No. She rips with the 8 speed tranny.
I just got off the phone with Geico. I was mistaken, they jacked the Gladiator up to $158 per month. This is insanity. I will be selling this Jeep off if this keeps up. The carrying costs just aren't worth it.
Thank you, though I was more interested in how the Gladiator felt behind a regular truck versus a huge motorhome of much more size and weight.
I do note that it says "not allowed" under tow dolly. Not sure I understand that.
I sold my car hauler years ago so I don't have a trailer to put my Gladiator on. I was thinking of setting it up to flat tow behind my 1 ton diesel truck. Has anybody done this? I know some people will do it behind an RV. I am wondering what it behaves like behind a truck, and if it would be...
Yep. I just got my Geico renewal today and they jacked me. I am going to shop around. I am in western WA, around your age, zero accidents or tickets, and they are now quoting $128 per month on the Gladiator. Insanity.
It would seem that at some point they would have to either cut back production, seriously cut prices, or cancel the vehicle altogether. Something has got to give. These manufacturers dug their graves with their own greed. Now they are forced to stare them in the face.
I'm not surprised. I am one who jumped at almost 30% off. While I happen to believe it was still overpriced at what I paid (hey, I'm old fashioned), when you factor in the hyperinflation in new vehicle prices over the past 4 years, such a smoking deal this soon after the price hikes was...
Man, I feel pretty good about my '23 JTR price. I paid $46k and change before tt&l. MSRP was $62k+ or so. OTD was $52k+. I was looking around at used vehicles and nothing made sense. Guys were asking more for 3 year old Gladiators with 30k miles than I bought a '23 for new.
This is a strawman argument of sorts. There is very little truth to the statement, other than I am using an ISP (not mine). I am on a laptop. Further, I am strictly talking about MY JEEP. It would not matter if I wanted every other thing in my life to track me, I am talking about MY JEEP. Thank you.
I am not a fan of all this technology and big brother stuff. Imagine my horror when I just got an email showing the exact mileage on my new Gladiator, etc. I don't like this at all. Is there anything I can do to stop this invasion of privacy? Thank you.
Interesting take. I happen to like it. I find it has plenty of power for my tastes. I really enjoy driving it. In fact, it may be my favorite vehicle I've ever driven insofar as fun and comfort goes.
Everything has become grossly overpriced. You can barely sniff any of those Broncos for under $50k before tt&l, and when you get into the optioned out models the prices become absurd. All of these manufacturers greeded out and raised prices way too high.
Even my Rubicon Gladiator at nearly 30%...
Mine has that Ikon tracker device on it. Did you remove yours? If so, do you have any pics? Also, who is tracking this and what access do I have to it?
