UPDATE: Dealership found the driver's door seals are what's causing it. Water is running down behind the plastic and under the floor carpet.
Parts/labor, for both doors, around $300 and not covered by my extendedwarranty.
...call out is the updated V2 internals. Same look and install, but improved durability with upgraded LED drivers and internal protections (voltage, surge, reverse polarity, etc.), plus the extendedwarranty.
If you’ve been considering a set, now’s definitely the time before the discount...
...Anyone with experience of this and where it might be coming from?

...of early demise things. I'm definitely starting to feel steering linkage/ ball joints now at 6 years /107000 miles. I went with extendedwarranty also. Did oil change yesterday.
I'm on 3rd set tires, first 2 sets were 245r17 OEM and rims. A set of take-off from a member here years ago. His...
You know, even if you don't go off-road much a lot of folks don't understand hw nice it is to own a Gladiator. This is my fifth Jeep product and the Gladiator is the FIRST Jeep I've owned that is wife/dog approved for long highway trips. Actually she has a VERY nice brand new SUV with every...
...the Sport S hardtop, automatic, with all LEDs except headlights, ACC, active subscription to 911/SOS UCONNECT, at the price paid $34,600 New, including Jeep extendedwarranty for 7/100 fits the bill for us retirees just fine. But if I were to choose between a Rubicon or Mojave? I would go Mojave.
Smart people that have crunched the numbers say it is cheaper in the aggregate to put the money aside that would have been spent for the extendedwarranty and few dollars more each month as a rainy day fund than to deal with a company that is going to punish you by process to avoid paying out.
...dealership tries to gouge you with and compare. Occasionally there are a few dealers who are very honest who you sell you an OEM extendedwarranty at their price or a hundred or two over. I had a Subaru dealership that did that to stick it to their competition packed pretty tight where I...
...is always motivated to reduce their payouts, and thus increase their profits. That is why they are in business, profits.
The only extendedwarranty I would consider is a factory Mopar extendedwarranty. If I can't get that, I am not getting one. At least with the Mopar extendedwarranty the...
Yeah, the assumption is that the gears were modded - because why would a tech be "shocked" by OE gearing, and how would OE gearing (or any gearing) cause a fluid loss in the transmission? So either you're embellishing the story significantly, the shop is a bunch of clowns who are "shocked" by...
Your replying skills could use some work, but since you tagged me I assume it was the scary comment I made? Nobody has ever flipped or almost flipped because of death wobble, so your own description of the event shows fear even if you now don't want to admit it. Its a harmonic oscillation of...
...recommendations who have had the same problem (there is a class action lawsuit). The stick poking worked, they reached out, offered extendedwarranty on new transmission and/or vehicle buy back for another truck.
So, to address your peabrain...yes I bought used. Didn't know that used jeeps...
I have no idea how you managed to destroy that transmission, the ZF8 is used all over in higher stress and much higher power engines. Something isn't adding up about your vehicle's history, it's starting to sound like the title got washed and those mods were done to cover damage.
Well sorry to hear but my experience is complete different !! 2023 Gladiator Rubicon 58,000 miles and still going strong !! Been so many places in this thing .. rocks, gravel, asphalt, mud, mountains, deserts, forest, water crossings, Arctic Ocean !! My Gladiator is a beast of an overland vehicle !
Theres always a few bad apples in every product. I have read that the 850RE (found in the gasser) might see more issues than a German built ZF, but overall they are a great transmission. One of the best performing transmissions I've owned.
I agree with everything but the transmission. I had the D clutch go out in mine. I am not a fan of the ZF transmission. Jeep replaced mine and gave me an extendedwarranty for my troubles. I didn't have my truck for 6 weeks because of supply issues, hench the extendedwarranty as compensation.
