There will be people that argue with this, even though its widely known and documented. The 02 that I spent time with had already had the frame replaced and even repainted when it began to show rust again within a couple years.
I've owned a few Toyotas and spent years as a Toyota fan boy. The...
...about 3 days, while they took it all apart..... I have photos somewhere of the 'rolling chassis' after it was complete and the body/bed on a hoist.
Yea...needless to say, the truck wasn't the same after that. I'd had it back for lose bolts & such.
Traded it in for a 2016 Canyon.
So yea...
A bit nuts, but a fun story with the kids. They helped me assemble it and learned some basic fastener rules. They’ll never forget the day they helped dad assemble a crane in the house.
I added a warn drill power pullz all yesterday. The ratcheting chain hoist was really slow. Effective, but slow.
Bulky, not exceeding 500lbs, so that’s not bad per four rubberized casters, plus the weight of the house of course, which exceeds the weight of anything I’m lifting. This idea totally snowballed into insanity. I’ll be happy owning a gantry long term, but this is nuts.
Hopefully whatever you're planning to hoist isn't too heavy and just bulky/cumbersome. As the weight will distribute to the tiny patch under the wheel. You're probably fine, but that could be a lot of rolling pressure on your tiles and grout lines. PSI.
I've considered that Gantry Crane for Canopy/RTT installation and removal. Also as an engine puller vs engine hoist. But, I would need for it to remain outside exposed to the Coastal Virginia elements and seasons.
Go to your Big Box DIY store and buy some 4" PVC and cut it down to a little bit wider than the box. Lift one end and place underneath. Start pushing and have someone assist with placing the other pieces. Easy Day.
hooked up the trailer, and went to harbor freight to buy a gantry crane. I needed a forklift, chain hoist, and come along to get it onto the trailer. Getting it into the house (you heard that right) to assemble and do the craziness I have planned should be bonkers tomorrow. The crate was about...
...is much different than using one when stuck in mud or high centred or pulling over large rocks. That said I used to carry a 15000lb mine hoist used for removing tires from heavy equipment with me that I used as a come along. It probably cost more than a winch and it worked very well. I...
...of deep 4wd mud holes, the inside of my car is cleaner than our own home. Sure the underside of my jeep is a little bit dirty...i dont have a hoist so i cant get under it and manually clean...otherwise id regularly do that as well, so i just gernie it the best i can up oj ramps and use a...

...most logical/economic solution for side mirrors. unscrew a screw from your cowl, and screw these right in - for $16, can't go wrong.
Crank hoist-a-top - Makes taking the top off a super easy one person job. You can use 1/2" socket on the hand crank to make it a poor man's power lift! Just...
