  1. Mojave Bump Stops

Good advice. They work extremely well for heavy hits and I've been a few places where I've maxed these out to 100% compression. I love them. I was hoping someone had an idea to lessen the clunk noise on light impacts when they engage for daily driving. Granted it doesn't happen very often and...
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I didn't notice any difference between these and my stock Falken M/Ts. But I don't know how the Falkens compare to other tires. I do need to reduce the air pressure though, so I get a better contact patch with the stock wheels.

  4. Hotheads headliner worth the 400 bucks?

Are any of the headliners worth the money? Looking at the hotheads one. Really interested for road noise. I daily drive and drive 70-75 mph daily and I would like to reduce the annoying road noise.
  5. Which headliner?

Our Sound Assassin strips are a great addition to the Hard Top Headliners if you're going for maximum benefit and want to do all you can to reduce road & wind noise. The sound damping properties of Sound Assassin remove sound vibrations (frequencies) by absorbing the energy, which restricts...
  6. HotHead vs Mopar headliner

Just a quick update on the Mopar headliner kit... let me first say it was easy to install - clean everything up really well with rubbing alcohol (no sanding or acetone - per installation instructions) and press into place. I have noticed a considerable improvement in the sound quality in the...

  9. How loud is the soft top?

wind noise. I just don’t notice it. It’s a non factor. ( premium soft top) That said, at low speeds and at stop lights, ambient noise can be problem. It just doesn’t isolate you. One time I was stuck in traffic next to road construction, and that jackhammer was loud and clear. And I can here...
  10. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Nope - the VVL and VVT won't impact the cam lobes or damage them. I run far more lift and a whole lot more valve spring pressure on my flat tappet cams than these will ever see. These don't even have .5 lift at the max lift, plus, they are roller followers or lifters, not flat tappets rubbing on...
  11. Cold Air Intake...

Hey everybody, Just wanted to jump in because I read through the thread and saw a bit of misinformation floating around, so I figured I'd add to the conversation with what we've found through R&D. Full disclosure: we do sell intakes, but the purpose of this post is not to sell you on anything...
  12. Wind noise, leak, need a part number

...BAM Wholesale, enter your vehicle and keyword “flag”. The new parts had incrementally thicker weatherstrip. The new parts work better to reduce noise than my attempts at Ace Hardware weatherstrip. I’d call it 80% improvement, well down in Jeep normalcy range. The parts are like 5 bucks each.
  13. TeraFlex trackbar movement

You mean you won't tighten it anymore because of the given specs or you physically can't make it any tighter.
  14. TeraFlex trackbar movement

I can’t make it any tighter. It was torqued to specifications. Here is the response by TeraFlex; Bill, After further review, your track bar appears to be functioning as designed and that movement is acceptable. The noise will likely reduce or even go away with continued use and with all of...
  15. CB Radio Install - where to wire?

...Still not a bad idea to connect the negative to a point of connection on the chassis, it tends to help reduce noise generated from vehicle electronics from getting into the radio.

  17. Random Earplug review for topless driving!

Not sure how many folks do this, but being a motorcycle rider I learned the importance of using ear plugs to cut down on the wind noise and prevent any damage to my hearing. After my first couple of rides topless/doorless I started to use earplugs to make my longer drives more pleasant. Below...
  18. Do I need this hood liner?

    Thanks so much
  19. Do I need this hood liner?

Early Wranglers didn't come with the hood insulation from the factory. I think Jeep started using the hood insulation on the JK models to reduce engine noise. I still have the insulation on my JKU but a couple of my friends took theirs out early on as it makes a nice home for little critters...
