I haven’t had an extendedwarranty on my last two vehicles - and didn’t need it.
I’m still on 3/36.
For what its worth…
Don’t buy an extendedwarranty while you’re still under the factory 3/36. Buy it when your 3/36 is about to expire. Remember…your Jeep also has 5/60 on the drivetrain...
My two cents: if you really want an "extendedwarranty " the factory one will be the best if you want it repaired in a dealership. At the dealership I work in, we do work with some aftermarket warranty companies, but it is never as smooth a process as the Mopar extendedwarranty process. A...
Simple to check battery voltage - open hood, connect a VOM to it and read the battery voltage.
Another common issue is the star CANbus connector behind the glove box.
...Just dropped mine off at the dealer today. They didn't think it was battery or voltage related at first glance but they were not able to diagnose it yet. My factory warranty is out but I have an extendedwarranty which I hope picks up the cost. Electronics issues seem to be hard to pin down.
What is your source on the Teflon coating? There is a coating on wear parts, but according to my friend the Pentastar (gen 1) designer, it was a new coating developed to mitigate wear from the ESS. It was never used on the gen 1 engines.
0w40 should be just fine unless you use the...
Love the color of your Jeep... Thanks for the info. Waiting to hear from dealer as to what it ends up being, but it sounds similar to what you experienced.
My 2021 developed a ticking noise that quickly got worse - and was later diagnosed as bottom end knock. The dealership installed a new long block at ~96,000 miles, but it was all covered under (extended) warranty.
I had expected cam/followers to be the issue, so that was a bit of a surprise.
...has yet to install one(if he hasn’t already).
Either way I look forward to seeing how this experiment goes for you. I have dabbled with the thought of going up to 5w30. But seeing as how I have 5700 miles on the clock, and have extendedwarranty, I’m a bit hesitant with taking that jump...
The Chevy dealership finally agreed to pay for the transmission work but I'm looking for a third-party extendedwarranty going forward. I can't even purchase a MOPAR warranty due to it's Canadian origin!
Hemi production has been extended and revitalized.
For the DT chassis.
A portion of which is now going to be produced in Mexico in 1500 flavor.
The 4xE, Toledo is actually tooling for right now. 4XE works because of the 470 FT/LBS of tq, move a truck like a truck. Wish I could have gotten a...
I am betting two things......1) Hemi 5.7. I believe Hemi production was extended and revitalized. I also think the current administration will ease CAFE with the purpose of helping the US auto Industry. That favors the Hemi. And the Hemi has "halo" effect, in marketing terms.
2) 4xE with...
...Excellent condition.
No issues.
~70k miles.
New “dealer installed” factory automatic transmission at 60k miles.. still under extendedwarranty for transmission.
White, white top, black fenders, black leather interior.
Rough Country Bumpers (front/back).
I will have Jeep in Georgia until end...
Listing my Jeep for sale I am the second owner I bought it with 10k and currently has 37k miles.
HPFP recall done at 22k miles
Timing cover leak fixed at 22k miles
Rear diff and axles replaced under warranty at 22k miles
Pretty much has all the bells and whistles added from factory. I will...
Not to exactly solve the problem, but you said "ticking" and it reminded me of this YouTube overlanding channel dude (TrailRecon) where he had that issue. He explains what the ticking is and what had to be done to fix it. Your situation may be different or whatever but interesting to see what...
Just so you have an idea of the cost of a new one, the dealer replaced mine at 93k miles under an extendedwarranty a couple of months ago. They replaced it with a new engine and the bill was somewhere around $7500, all of which, except $100 was covered by the warranty. The new engine has a...
...has a blown head gasket and they are recommending that, all aforementioned considered, I replace the engine. I do not have an extendedwarranty. I am unaware of any factory warranties that should cover what needs to be done. I don't want to get into another Gladiator or different vehicle, as...
Same with mine…6 weeks in the shop.
JEEP put me off long enough that my Factory Drivetrain warranty expired 2 months before they would schedule me. @JeepCares
Fix was a bit under $1,700. Used extendedwarranty and had to pay $387 of the $1,700.
