So this jeep just got out of the dealership two weeks ago after stranding me on the highway unable to start with the transmission lights flashing and unable to shift out of park or start. Dealer claimed intermittent open curcuit in PCM and replaced it.

Since then I lost power steering or something similar causing my turning to taje tremendous effort twice. Then today there was a slight thud and this message popped up as well as the orange light on the right. I was forced to go into park then i coukd go back to drive.

This happened three times before I stopped and parked. Restarting the check engine light came on but the message and orange icon was gone. Then driving home three more events of the thud, which seemingly puts it in neutral, and then flashing D until i go park then back to drive. Finally the orange icon and message come back plus the battery icon.

Ive dropped it off at the dealership (which gave me attitude and wouldnt take down what happened until Monday, really pissing me off since i just picked it up). Anyways anyone have an idea on this? Only thing are 34 inch MTs on steel wheels.

Without codes it is hard to tell. ABS sensors or steering wheel position sensor are some of the typical failures for that. Being new and your previous issues, I believe you have a connection issue. Hopefully the dealer will take you seriously and fix it.

I sympathize with your predicament. In your situation, as a new owner I would: 1)Be thinkinf a out an attorney. 2) Take the vehixle back to the dealer (with a witness) find the sales manager, hand him the keys. Ask him what the dealership plans to do to fill your order? 3) Start posting bad press, include the VIN and dealership. Its amazing that Jeep has been synomous with electronic problems for at least two decades.

There are so many things that function together that without the codes there is no way to guess.

I'll give you an example. A critter chews through the wiring to one of your wheel speed sensors.

You get multiple lights, 4x4 doesn't work, cruise doesn't work, can't disengage swaybar, don't have ABS, I believe I had 3 more problems that I don't remember.

Oh how I wish for the dumb old days with no computer BS in vehicles.

Mine just did the exact same thing today. Thud under the vehicle, Electronic Stability Control error, then shifter turned all yellow and would allow shifting, then transmission errors. Just dropped mine off at the dealer today. They didn't think it was battery or voltage related at first glance but they were not able to diagnose it yet. My factory warranty is out but I have an extended warranty which I hope picks up the cost. Electronics issues seem to be hard to pin down.

Simple to check battery voltage - open hood, connect a VOM to it and read the battery voltage.

Another common issue is the star CANbus connector behind the glove box.

Sorry to hear that, I'd bet on aux battery or wiring harness issues. Mine had roughly 34k miles at the point of issue.
