    Past the piston rings. All ICE engines have blow-by past the piston rings. Some more than others. These gasses have fuel and carbon. The water gets in the oil when you turn off the motor and as it cools down will draw moist air in and is more prevalent in damp humid areas.

    I'm in the same boat. I don't want to put the compressor under the truck. I live in PA and can't imagine what the salt will do to it. I was looking at an engine mount for it but the heat bothers me so the underseat what I'm thinking.

    Agree about the price. Unfortunately under seat doesn't work for me. The other option I was looking at is the Maximus-3 cradle, but I have a skid plate system which replaces the cross-member that the kit attaches to. That's why I was trying to figure out how Artec mounts.

    What issues have you been having with your transmissions? And when was your latest one installed? I dont mind calling around im hoping thursday they will just diagnose it as bad. The transmission guy was there when I dropped it off and he said it sounds like it needs to be replaced.

    I put the Maximus-3 plate on all three of my (OEM steel bumper) Jeeps. Easy to install and pretty much any winch just drops right in. Warn Zeons are a tiiiight fit but they do fit. Others are a piece of cake.
