35s on the AEV is not too much of a gap regardless of steel bumpers or not at least on a non rubicon model (lower sitting fenders). At least in my opinion. I'm going that route on my Overland and have seen many pics of that set up personally on a few threads I've followed and it's the perfect...

Wasn't even aware of this. But I may now. I'm in Louisville and it's a decent drive to Owensboro but I may check it out at least for one day if not not all.

Here's my new ones with a 0. They're 18x9. Same amount of poke I had before on my stock wheels which were a +44 although I had 1.75" spacer with them. Obviously the new ones didn't need a spacer to achieve the look I wanted. So I ditched the spacers. Not the best pics from a direct side angle...

I wouldn't say it would be detrimental to any suspension components although a -12 is a decent amount of poke. More than my liking. I personally stay around a 0. I literally just got new black rhinos with a 0 offset last week. Perfect amount of poke for me. I say you'll be fine. I've seen tons...
