Jeep also recommends never servicing the 8 speed transmission under normal operating conditions. They also recommend 87 octane even though Iāve proven over and over that these pull timing like mad on 87 octane.
Iām not saying youāre wrong, but I also donāt live by the āJeepā recommends...
Sweet. Another oil thread.
At least this one has an oil analysis that shows 0W30 has less wear metal contamination. Thank you for sharing that.
Even with good data that people will still put 0W20 because they think their warranty will be void if they donāt and that there is some chemist in a...
For guys that are dead set on dyno data, I am going to the dyno with my Jeep on 7/15. Datalogging already shows anywhere from 10-30 HP and 10-30 TQ in various places through the rev range depending on octane and environment.
Yep. I tune more manuals than automatics. Rev hang greatly reduced with the tuning plus much smoother linear power below 2200. Grab my tuning guide from the first post of this thread to read up on the process.
As June comes to an end just wanted to thank the forum and it's users for all the great support and trust, and a big thank you to those of you who have wrote very nice posts and reviews about the product.
Another 10 Jeeps got tuned this month, 3 of those were Gladiators, and I think the word...
Itās been all over the place. Mine was 3 business days. From time I shipped (overnight) to time I got mine back was 5 total days. But Iām in Illinois only 5 hours away from HP Tuners HQ. Some customers itās taken two weeks.
If your GPEC2A ECU (side connectors) there are tons of shops all over...
No.
First, you donāt have to have a spare ECU. Itās completely optional, you can flash back to stock at anytime with your MPVI in a couple of minutes.
If you do want a spare ECU, do it in this order:
-Purchase new ECU
-Take Jeep to dealer with new ECU in hand.
-Have current ECU updated by...
I think Dave and I could talk this stuff for days, plus heās in Illinois too so we could probably both mutually complain about our state at the same time š
Yep you should be fine. Iāve got customers in New York, Illinois, and California which are pretty strict that havenāt reported any issues. You can always flash back to stock a few weeks before emissions testing if youāre concerned.
Best way to get a spare ECU is direct through dealer. They are very affordable. I think a couple hundred bucks ish depending on if your GPEC2A (side connectors) or GPEC 5 (top connectors). If you go that route, the process would be get the ECU, have the dealer update your current one to the...
Noooo donāt digress. I love talking this stuff with people!
Oh, ULEV? Now I get what you meant.
Yeah depending on OS and ECU type, HP Tuners actually missed some critical driver demand related tables. Iāve managed to map out the main ones with .BIN file review and .XDF creation. Iāve sent...
I appreciate your response and a lot of that is already considered during development of these tunes, but there a few of your points I want to discuss.
First, what is ULVE architecture? Iāve never heard of such a thing. I canāt even find anything on the internet with that acronym pertaining to...
Factory tuning is set up to work for everyone no matter how bad your gas, your elevation, etc. It is set up to please the percentage of drivers who donāt care about throttle response, power delivery, refinement, etc all while meeting whatever rules they are regulated to. It is a catch all one...
I havenāt had any Euro customers yet. I guess they are putting tail pipe sniffers in over there and running the engine through some various RPM scenarios over there?
I have done a few California, Illinois, and New York jeeps stateside, which anre the strict ones and no one has reported any...
