I run one with a soft top no issues. I am using 3m because I didn't want to drill holes in my windshield header. I have had no issues. It just sits in the front and bolts in the rear, the worst it can do is rattle if the tape comes loose.
I ended up plating my track bar mount as the mopar full thread bolt wallowed out the original hole. If you have movement on those bolt threads its not the bracket flexing (unless you have cracks in it) its the bolt moving in the hole. I used grimm offloads bolt kit, which has a full shank though...
I just ordered one, for $295 Im curious. If tuning would net me 50hp I could justify it, but its not going to with a N/A 3.6. This wont gain any HP or TQ but hopefully it cleans up the downlow.
Good info, I too am on the fence with tuning. I definitely would like more on the bottom (under 2k) but sending my pcm out to be unlocked (3-5 business days) then tuning is just deeper than I care to go at the moment. Also, I have the worst luck when it comes to "bolt ons" id probably have the...
I havnt had any gear pop out issues, only clutch issues. Both with the factory unit, (removed at 9k miles) and a centerforce unit (twice) that was the version that would not disengauge while in moab on metal masher. Limped it home to michigan as I dont usually trailor my stuff. The shift linkage...
Same here. Some guys can run a 37 on a stock dana 30 for years. The point is i had the trans out of my "serious wheeler" at 9k miles. That's not "trail ready" to me. Nothing ever is. And, if you're willing to beat the heck out of it, stuff goes way farther than it's was ever intended to, more...
I run my crap, and it hasn't been without finding the week points. Our jku was inadequate as well. You have to tweak everything. Usually if your willing to take damage your "capability" greatly increases. Show me the "serious wheeler" jt not moded to high heck running those trails without damage.
"Serious wheeler" is kind of a stretch. Especially when you see multitudes of stock things in moab, doing the same stuff. Heck a 2wd mini van gets around out there. The only thing jeep has going in the "serious wheeler" catagory is a solid front axel. Thats even a debatable advatage anymore. The...
Going up some deffinatly changed your caster, which heavily affects bump steer. The stabilizer is just a bandaid. Also what air pressure are you running, and what load rating are the tires. Both will affect the "bouncy" feel, and exaggerate bump steer.
Sounds like you need to trade your jeep in for a bronco. 😁 I'm 6'1, and have zero issues with the shifter or the door whip. I have noticed the last coule days that my left foot is usually back toward my seat bottom. I cant even maneuver my shin close enought to be bothered by the door side. As...
Looking sweet! This is one I put together. Started life as a 1972 Shasta, which pretty much donated the axel and channel. Works well, I run an articulating hitch. Its quiet and very agile. I built it to accept my fishbone offroad mid height rack. If we want to take just the truck and tent, I...
"Down to 30psi" brother, I hang out at 28psi tops, usually 25. Ran my "37"" km3's from MI to Utah that way, my 40" milestars are sitting at 28 currently, but I havnt done a chalk test yet to see how they are tracking. Glad you got your situation sorted out though!
I didn't notice any difference in wind noise with my evo mounts and a 3x3 aux beam light. I run a similar setup on my Tundra and those are quiet as well.
