  1. Does anyone else think the 3.6L is under powered for the JT?

It depends on where the power is made. Plenty of people have complained about the new Taco V6 being sluggish because it has no low-end grunt.
  2. Scrambler (JT) 2 door/Extended cab

Also, regular cab trucks hardly get half the incentives of their extended and crew cab brethren.
  3. Jeep pickup available mid 2019, will be "intentionally" expensive

My main concern with a replacement truck is to have 4WD and a manual transmission. I test drove the Tacoma and hated it. Ford crossed themselves off the list by making the Ranger automatic-only. At this point, that leaves the Gladiator and the Frontier. If the Gladiator is super expensive, then...
  4. Jeep pickup available mid 2019, will be "intentionally" expensive

Make it too expensive and no one will buy it because it is priced outside of the demographic. Just look at the 6th Gen Camaro for reference.
  5. Its Official...Ford Ranger Is Back and The Scrambler's newest comp.

After sitting in a Ranger over in England, I'm disappointed with this reveal. Without the offering of a manual transmission, I have crossed the Ranger off the list of possibilities. It annoys me because the Ranger comes with a nice manual across the pond, and the only engine choices were diesel.
  6. Scrambler wish list

The Ram 3.6 power output versus the Wrangler power output would be nice. Oh, and a manual transmission is a must, or else I'm out.
  7. Jeep Gladiator Pickup Engines, Tow Capacity, Max Payload Figures and Axle Ratios Revealed!

It looks like the 3.73s are offered on the JL. The JT just jumps from 3.45s to 4.10s. I'm only interested in the 6 speed manual. If the manual isn't going to be offered, then my interest in the vehicle is gone.
  8. Jeep Gladiator Pickup Engines, Tow Capacity, Max Payload Figures and Axle Ratios Revealed!

It sucks that 3.73s aren't being offered with the 3.6. That's just about the perfect street gear.
  9. Pickup bed features

I'm sure the aftermarket will provide plenty of tonneau covers. Personally, I think folding covers suck since they still take up a 1/3 of the bed when folded. I prefer roll-up covers.
  10. Pickup bed features

I'm a simple man. Give me a bed with multiple tie-down locations and I'm happy. I disagree. The Gladiator needs to compete in the midsize truck segment. If people want a Wrangler, they'll buy a Wrangler. In order for this model to succeed, they need to appeal to what actual truck owners want...
  11. Ford Announced The Ranger Raptor Today

^^It isn't solely about numbers. The 3.0L diesel and EcoBoost engines are going to have completely different powerbands and driving characteristics.
  12. What's the plan for the rear window?

    Fixed. I hate horizontal sliders.
  13. 2018 JLU shows production design. What would you like shared with the JT?

Ideally, 2 doors, 6ft bed, and a manual transmission. I'm fine with the JL front end.
  14. Scrambler Seen Tow Testing

It is good to see they are actually designing it to be a truck.
  15. How are you going to use your JT?

As a truck: haul stuff in the bed and tow the occasional vehicle.
  16. Manual transmission option?

The possibility of a manual transmission is the ONLY reason I'm looking at the JT. If it becomes a fact that the manual will not find its way into the JT, then I will lose all interest.
  17. JT Scrambler (vs JK Wrangler) Frame and Axles

The large rear brakes indicate that this truck as actually being designed with towing in mind in order to compete in the midsize truck class. I would expect the front rotors to be even larger.
  18. Colorado ZR2 Will Be The JT Rubicon's Main Competition

A few reasons: I have no use or need for a 2500 series truck. The 2500 doesn't come in a regular cab, short bed configuration. The manual transmission is only available with the diesel I'm not particularly fond of diesels It is almost a $10,000 option I don't care about offroad...
  19. Colorado ZR2 Will Be The JT Rubicon's Main Competition

The Colorado is automatic-only, so it isn't even a consideration for me. If I'm replacing the Silverado, it is going to have a manual transmission, which is why I have an eye on the JT.
