Everything is going to be almost exactly like the JL. 285/70 R 17 should fit the Sport and Overland and 35" tires on a Rubicon with the higher fenders. Just go on the JL forum and look around. The basics are the same just the rear bed/bumper areas will be different and the tops of course.
I'm sure they will outsource the speaker to another company, put a Jeep logo on it and charge double what you'd pay for an equivalent speaker. IMO a waste of money but I'm cheap.
I've got the Bose Soundlink mini. It is small and has great sound. The factory one will be just a cool trinket but I'm guessing the sound quality won't be as good as the top speakers from Bose or JBL.
Jeep will make a boatload of money on the JT without a doubt. The first couple years I don't think they will be able to make enough of them. The standard cab pickup market is dying besides fleet vehicles which is not the purpose of the JT.
This....
"The Jeep Wrangler-based pickup truck does not yet have a name, despite press reports that it will carry the historic "Gladiator" name. Marchionne said the Jeep pickup will be "expensive; intentionally so" because it is designed as a lifestyle truck that is likely to generate annual...
If you look at sales stats for JK and JL 2 door vs 4 door, the 4 door is dominating the market. Probably 5:1 sales 4dr vs 2dr. I doubt they will commit to a regular cab truck with development costs, etc for such a small market. Even crew cab pickups are killing standard cabs in all other brands.
I was hoping that the JT would come out with a base spec model with a 6 spd and manual everything for around $35k. I know they tend to release the high end models first, but hopefully there is a budget Sport version for us average Joes.
90% of the Gladiator buyers are buying a "cool" lifestyle truck. Even FCA expects this by pricing it as a premium product. If people want a "real" truck, you can pick up a 2019 Hemi Ram Rebel for a little less than a JT. People are buying these for the fun factor.
*Yawn* I can't believe the hype about this "leak". AEV did a much better job IMO. You can get a used Hemi Brute for what they are going to charge for this. I'm guessing $50-60k
The more I look at the test mules, the more I dislike the proportions and overhangs. Hopefully they look better in the flesh. The AEV Brutes looked awesome but they were on 37s and had hemis. I'm hoping the base model JTs don't look "wimpy".
It sucks that FCA is so greedy with the JT. If the price is that high, it will be in the same range as a discounted 2019 Ram Rebel Crew Cab with a Hemi V8. I've seen some Rebels selling at $42-45k and that may push me to a Ram. I'll miss the topless/doorless Jeep but much more width, payload and...
