Well...
After some consideration, I drove a cement gray 2018 Tacoma OR with premium and tech package off the dealer lot this weekend, and I don't regret it one bit! It's quite a vehicle.
I did a 2 year lease, $4500 off msrp, 81% residual! With all the demand surrounding the jeep truck...
If it's "intentionally" expensive, it must be "intentionally" well equipped. Maybe not expensive in the sense of a base model, but on the Sahara/Rubicon end.
Otherwise, see you later.
If production is following a year behind the wrangler, the safe assumption would be that the reveal is a year behind, following the same path as the JL wrangler.
That bed certainly doesn't look like it's the width of the body in that above picture. The other pics show the black covering stretched over that area. In this pic it looks like the covers are hugging the body and wraps around the back of the cab.
I know there is the CAD drawing showing a full...
Top like the wrangler.
Outlet in the bed.
Step in body between rear door and front of rear fender.
CB radio antenna pre-wire like the wrangler.
Storage under, or behind rear seats.
Lots of strap/attachment points.
I think so, with some small differences.
Gas cap in front of wheel well.
Roll bar a bit more rounded on the back.
Lip of bed will match the new body line (which I think the JL wrangler was forced to adopt to standardize production)
Would be smart to put a step in that void between the rear...
The JL is stealing the spotlight right now. I'm actually surprised we saw as much as we did at this stage.
Curious what's going to happen on the rear of the cab. It would be interesting if they made a bed cap that was styled like the upcoming JL hardtop.
Do you think we will even have a "rubicon" option? I thought it was base/premium?
I guess there wouldn't be much room/interest for a Sahara type trim pickup.
I have a feeling this isn't going to be just a JLU with a bed. What I mean is they might not be marketing this to the rock crawler...
