  1. Leasing a Jeep Gladiator

Add thoughts on buying down a lease for low monthly payments (cash flow).
  2. Rubicon vs Sport S Fenders (35's Fit?)

To me the Rubicon on the order guides states MM3, not MM2. I hope I'm wrong but even dealer pictures of max tow on lot seem to show non rubi fenders. I looked at dealers in the Detroit area.
  3. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

Your assessment is quite close to mine. The power and transmission were there but it is not going to knock your socks off. It's not a slouch either. Off road I expect it will be just a capable as my Rubicon is today (minus breakover) so kudo to the engineers for keeping the jeepiness. I didn't...
  4. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

This is why forums are great! I've never bought out of state and now I know. Thanks for the effort to put the detail and links together.
  5. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

Completely understand. My 2 sons now 19 and 21 grew up in jeeps travelling on and off road. Ouch! Taxes are insane in CA. Rover_boy says $1200. I wonder what the $2100 difference is. It cant be just local taxes.

Nampa ID to SD. Mentally working out the cost. 3 tanks of gas, airfare 1 way, 1 overnight hotel, food etc. I've never been to ID and it might be a good excursion.

  8. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

I missed your post. We probably drove the same Gladiator. That's about a 900 mile drive for you.
  9. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

How much do you estimate the licensing and taxes will hit you for, when you register in CA? It sounds like you made a smart move.
  10. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

Personally, I would not pay MSRP and it's not a factor of being unable to afford. That extra money can go to better uses. You should wait, as I'm positive the deals will be available once manufacturing catches up. There are A LOT of dealers in the SoCal area and none are too far for you. I was...

I'm curious to hear your impressions.
  12. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

Those are some of the questions I am pondering. I'm close to retirement and that is a factor. 1. Do I still want the ride of a Jeep vs the ride of a Ram truck, like the 1500, as I drive back and forth from Mx. The best roads in Mx are about as good as the worst roads in US. 2. Do I really want...
  13. Test drove the Gladiator in the San Diego Market

The dealer in Mission Valley had 4 ( red and black-Overland and Rubicon) on the lot and I went to just look but was offered a test drive. They sold a white one yesterday. The Gladiators look better in person IMO. As far as driving characteristics I would call it very similar to my JKU Rubicon (...

  15. Car And Driver - Gladiator vs Colorado vs Ranger vs Ridgeline

His list is the same as mine. I am and will continue to struggle with all the available options until later this year. I really want to add the ecodiesel v2 into the mix and that wont happen until later this year. Concerns of ED reliability come into play especially since I was an early adopter...
