I find the Cascadia system to be good for overlanding, when parked. Yes, the panels don't like heat, but I'm looking to stay topped up when off grid and doing other things, when the truck is of, and, therefore, not generating engine heat. It works well for me.
Got it. Now it looks like you got the regular Billie Bars, and not the "Gladiator" specific ones (https://billiebars.com/products/copy-of-billiebars-for-retrax-gladiator).
Is that correct? Does it matter?
Looking at this and am intrigued. Working to change my overlanding system.
So which Rock-N-Lock did you get? I like the Billie Bar set up, and this tonneau.
To get the whole set up from the get go (not changing as you did later on), what would I need?
I'm selling my Upper Decker and custom rack for it, if anyone is interested.

I'm selling my Upper Decker and custom rack for it, if anyone is interested. Pricing based on what I paid (not what a new one cost before the stopped making them).

I have an Ace Engineering (before they were bought by Steinjäger) Upper Decker hard, cantilevered tonneau cover that I am selling. It works great - I just want to go in a different direction now with my rig.
Before Ace stopped making them, the price got super high on them - but I'm willing to...
Are you still looking for an Ace Upper Decker?
I have one, in Kansas City that I'm looking to sell. And we are not THAT far away...

We did look at them at an Overland expo. I like that the Patriot X3 allows for a space to sit, inside, during incelement weather - something that the Tutrleback lacks.
Yes - they are expensive. My family is in Kansas City, and we took a trip down to Oklahome, where the U.S. dealer is, and were very impressed. Expensive, but seems like a good purchase.
I'd love a Conquerer, but they cost more (and the Ohio dealer just changed to Kimberly, I believe).
If...
I think I've changed my mind against the Opus I was considering.
RIght now, if funds support it, I am leaning towards a Patriot - they are sick (in a good way!)
Thanks - my son actually got Covid (from in person school or copmpetitive gymnastics). He was only under the weather for a couple of days (he's 9 years old). So we had 10 days for him to be isolated, but as he could not really self isolate at his age, my wife and I were continually exposed...
I had mine back into the dealership on Monday for the TSB fix. Took all day (don't get me started on my dealership!) but I got it back, and it is noticeably better. Steering wheel movement immediately results in wheel movement - much tighter.
I did have to wait months for the parts, and then...
That loos great. Let us know how it works for you.
As for the plastic end caps - you may be able to leave them (obviously I would prefer metal...) and put the bracket into the end caps on the Arana strut.
An extra 66 lbs would be welcome relief. I'd love a 115 lb...but I can't seem one.
Ace's website says their are rated at 67lbs each (https://aceengineeringandfab.com/products/ace-jt-gladiator-upper-decker)
I found these on Amazon at 125lbs. But they don't have the brackets on them - can you swap those easily enough...
