HI folks!
I'm finally in the market for a new/used gladiator. I've done nothing but purchase used cars historically and I'm now in a spot where I could purchase a new vehicle. I'd much rather buy used but I'm having a hard time finding a used gladiator on the market for what I'm looking for...
When will you be able to lock the front and/or rear diffs in 4 high/2high? (why can they only be locked in 4low right now?)
Any updates on the diesel tow capacity?
When will the diesel launch?
Any other trims coming up in the future (like the mojave or a nice intermediate trim between sport...
I've been under the impression that the internet was made for two things - jeep forums and craigslist for finding jeep parts. What else could you possibly need?
If you don't mind me asking - what made you decide to go the Sport route as opposed to sport S? I'm leaning towards sport due to the lack of electronics
I remember reading that they put the entire gladiator through a "misting" test. They took the doors and roof off and ran it under a mist for 24(?) Hours then made sure the electronics still worked. I can't remember the exact time frame for the test, but I remember they billed it as a "just in...
Cut it into three 4' pieces. Lay them down in the bed stacked on top of one another. Use the remaining space for your welder and gas then, when you get to where you're going, weld it back together.
If you need to bring it back make sure you bring a hacksaw. Or weld some disconnecting brackets...
It's great to see "off-road" towing reports like this. The vast majority of what I'll be towing with my gladiator (when I bite the bullet and get one!) Will be a good mixture of highways and forest service/unmaintained mountain and logging roads with a teardrop camper behind. I wish there were...
So true. I don't need a 2" lift, disconnecting sway bar, all the fancy electronics and a max tow package. Give me a sport with a locker and manual doors/windows and some nicer tires and I'll be happy.
As a YJ owner I'm worried jeeps will get some awful transmissions again... The BA 10/5 from Peugot was pretty terrible. Maybe they'll bring that back for the next "heritage" jeep model - a crappy transmission in addition to the FCA electrical gremlins ;)
My YJ and old 2001 Dodge ram 1500 both had vacuum actuated CAD systems. They worked fine until the vacuum hoses rotted and blocked the CAD passageways. New CAD system in my YJ is cable actuated and works like a dream now. No issues.
Bought this YJ with the dream that my best friend (a shepherd/collie mix named Freyja) and I would drive through the mountains in it together on all of our adventures. She passed away unexpectedly in October. She had a few rides in the Jeep with me before she passed and everything felt right in...
That's assuming you ever sell it ;). When I have my diesel in a gator green decked out like the wayout concept I plan on being buried in it. Preferably not in an avalanche or a mudslide.
I guess I'd save a bit of money on funeral expenses in the long run.
I'm right there with you. I actually went out and test drove a power wagon - a cheaper option than a Rubicon for impressive off road capability in its own right. Not necessarily apples to apples, but the price point lends itself more to a fully optioned full sized truck. I've been struggling...
I'd love it if they'd made it so the bulkhead between the bed and the cab were removable. I'd pull the rear seats, drop the bulk head and make it into an overland camper in a heartbeat
