  1. Questions for BAK Revolver X4S owners

Yes, I mounted some crossbars or a ski rack to those channels. Cheap T-bolts off Amazon needed just a touch of grinding to fit.
  2. Bed crossbars on the cheap/homemade

Project complete! Ordered this set of crossbars off Amazon, pretty nice especially considering the $100 price. The T-bolts that are supposed to be used to attach the ladder rack braces are just slightly too wide to fit the slots on the tonneau cover, a quick hit to the bench grinder solved that...
  3. Bed crossbars on the cheap/homemade

I've found a few threads where people were building tent racks which have some good ideas. I was thinking uni-strut too, it's the uprights/attachment points I'd need to figure out. I found these on Amazon, which look like they might work. Price isn't too much more than home built would be once...
  4. Bed crossbars on the cheap/homemade

My wife snagged a hitch mount ski carrier. The design is not great, IMHO as the skis are held sideways across the back of the truck where they will catch a lot of road grime. I'd like to mount it over the bed, with the skis held lengthwise. I have a Rollbak tonneau cover with t-slots for...
  5. Tailgate Tent

Didn't see this thread until now, I was thinking my suggestion would be a bit out of line from your original thought- now I'm thinking it could've worked for you. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/napier-sportz-suv-tent-model-82000 It's like an Old-shool pole tent, rear window zips out and a tube...

  7. Top speed in 4L

Jeep touted the 50mph top speed in 4L for the Mojave in a lot of places- https://www.motortrend.com/news/jeep-jt-gladiator-mojave-vs-gladiator-rubicon-whats-the-difference/ Maybe it's the 6MT limiting you? What gear are you in? Is the clutch slipping?
  8. Kaiser

The Gladiator name was dropped, but the truck was pretty much the same until the mid/late 80's, it sure as hell wasn't a CJ8 If we're going to pick nits, the current Gladiator probably has more in common with the Scrambler than the original Gladiator. It's based on the Wrangler, which is the...
  9. Looking for a few Jeep Collectors items

I think the box you're thinking of is the crate that the lift kit comes in- https://www.quadratec.com/products/16170_1023_07.htm

I wasn't talking about the Scrambler. They didn't sell a whole lot of them, but the original Gladiator was in production until 1988. here's a link to an ad for an '88- https://www.classic.com/veh/1988-jeep-j-10-pickup-44-1jtnj26u8jt034601-n173vxp/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Gladiator_(SJ)

I dropped out early, the boob show wasn’t nearly high enough quality
  13. Leaking axle seal?

Did you get a recall notice? My delivery date and VIN aren't far off of yours. All I got was a new seal.
  14. Kaiser

I knew about the J10 Gladiator, my Granda had one. What really surprised me was that they were still making them until 1988, I thought they stopped in the late 70s
  15. this supposed to be a little loose?

Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth a little bit while you watch all those rod ends. As the video before mentioned, the joints do need to move a bit while turning, but you should not see the end moving around laterally or vertically in relation to the mount in the light rocking...
  16. When do you "step in" and correct bad advice?

Cunningham's Law- "The best way to get the right answer on the Internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer." This refers to the observation that people are quicker to correct a wrong answer than to answer a question.
  17. When do you "step in" and correct bad advice?

Do you need an assistant? I'll correct mis-information where I can provide definitive proof. It's hard to change someone's opinion that a Sport with a locker is the equal to a Rubicon, but you can point out the differences in T-case gearing, sway bar disconnects, etc. You probably won't...
  18. Leaking axle seal?

I've had the right rear seal leak for a while, finally got the truck in for service. Got a call from the dealership saying they verified the leak. I would swear he said they were replacing the axle, he definitely said "they had one in Boston they would ship down and have it done by tomorrow"...
  19. Good work boot brand?

Another vote for Keen, I work at a school- tile floors on concrete for the most part. I like the Flint soft toe.
