I have been towing a 9.0TD for a couple on years now. Our longest trip was from Michigan to NYC then to northern Vermont and New Hampshire.
Very easy towing. Hardly felt it back there ( except for the gas MPG! I get about 16MPG when towing. it. My trailer has been highly modified and has had...
No, None at all. Just make sure you have the correct bit and that is it very good condition.
A worn bit will not grab the bolt securely and could strip out the head.
Put a bit of WD-40 on the bolts and let it soak in over night.
I swapped hoods the first week I had my Overland.
Hood and Vent inserts. I didn't bother with the insulator pad.
Very easy to do, took me around 30 minutes max.
How could the factory screw up like this? Would the tire be ok to remount on a 17" wheel?
I didn't plan on using the tire or wheel as I went to 35's, but thought I would give it to some one that could.
Dropped my spare tire down today to change to a BFG KO2 spare to match the tires that I put on when I got my Overland.
Now, Overlands come with 18" wheels and tires, But the spare I dropped down is a 245-75-17 tire, yet the wheel is stamped 18x6!
WTH is going on?
Bought a Clipper 9.0TD-V
About 1100lb empty and 2100 max
Did some mods to make it better.
Added a tongue box to hold 2 batteries, solar charger/controller, battery charger, battery monitor and battery switch. 100 watt solar panels.
Changed the round fender to squared off ones. Sprayed the box...
I have 40 years in the auto body business. DON'T waste your money on Ziebart undercoating!
It can be worst the no undercoating at all.
I undercoated mine with Woolwax and Fluid Film.
I took my time and got in every seam, hole, nook and cranny.
