Thanks for this info. I hit 88 degrees and ended up in 1985...
J/k, it all worked like it should and I filled just under 6 quarts. The only thing that was a little unnerving was being under the Jeep on the lift with it running pulling the plug out of the tranny to add more fluid.
mac...
It was built 9-2019. I bought that newer style gasket and put it on the new PPE pan I bought.
Less than 4 quarts filled it upâŠis that right?

Trans leak appears to be the pan.
Pulled pan and I think thats a spot to leak.
Still trying to figure out the front of the motor.
Oh yeah two broken bolts getting down pipe on exhaust looseâŠ

Those pictures are the back of the transmission not the front.
I could not trace oil from the back of the transmission to the front of the transmission or to the motor with my eyes and a flashlight.
Does that bolt circled go into the block and could have been the leak up front?
mac âleakyâ gyvr
Photo is of the bottom of the engine on the passenger's side. That bolt that is circled was hand tight. I am not sure if it goes all the way into the engine block or not, but after clean up and tightening it, I took a 10 miles test drive and it was dry.
I also noticed that there is fluid...

Made the 3k round trip driving mine to Moab in October. Another 500 miles on the trail. Had a great trip!
11/30 will be 4 years of ownership.

I ended up going 5.13s with 35s. I love it. Have about 5k miles on the gears. Just went to Moab from Indiana. 11 days driving the Jeep. Got about 17 mpg on the highway running 70-75 mph (2500-2650 rpm). The thing absolutely has power.
Photo shows mpg for entire trip which included 5 days...
Iâm having this issue.
Here is how it starts up.

I have 35s and 4.10s on my JTR and hate it. I'm going to 5.13s.
I'll have $4,000 in my regear.
$1,000 in the spicer gears and rebuild kits
$3,000 in a two post lift because I don't want to roll around on the ground anymore.

Happy to see the 392 still in the JL...
If Jeep offers the 392 in the JT then bad financial decisions will be made by me and likely test my marriage...
mac 'regardless of anything else...' gyvr
I'm thinking about 5.38s and 35s...37s maybe in the future...
The pin is the same size from 4.88? So nothing lost, nothing gained?
My highway cruising speeds are 70-75...still reasonable rpm...
Gas mileage isn't a big deal, 13k miles on mine since new in Nov 19, I have a work car to dd.
Too...
Pulled the seat. Have no resistance in the bottom heater and some resistance in the back heater. Leads me to believe the bottom one has a broken spot in the grid.
