final update... it took three times, but they got it done! The second time they did the work, the paint matched great... on the entire tub, doors, fenders, windsheild and cowel pieces... but they did not paint the hood. I just got it back from them doing the hood again and made it right.

I saw it in the body shop today, they scuffed and are painting the entire side of the jeep, fenders, hood, doors, body. they said they will not need to paint the bed becuase they will fade the area behind the door to the bed. we will see. the service manager said they will also paint the...

It was a dealer paint shop. What could go wrong with the prep? They said they have a separate area for alluminum panels to prevent contamination of the metals. I assume they removed the panels, removed the hinges and handles, sanded down the paint down to fresh metal under the hinges, primed...
