Funny how the experts come crawling out to spit their knowledge without even testing. Here's a video I took today of my blind spot detection working perfectly picking up a motorcycle. I had the camera at eye level, so what the camera sees is what I see. Bike in mirror, then yellow triangle...
LOL Totally missed that they posted that. Would have known not to install that resister. But yeah. it's as easy as the install video suggests. Nice lights for sure.
Yup, everything is red. There's the small bank that are brighter than the rest in the rear, but they're all plenty bright. and all the same shade of red that I could tell.
Just got done installing mine and taking it out for a spin to test the blind spot detection still worked. Everything works fine and was simple to install. Although I need to pull the resister out since I had LEDs before so I was getting rapid flash and a blinker error.
What did you guys end up going with? I'm probably going to need to go the SLX route with the extenders to make it an EXT since my daughter really wants a mini cooper and I doubt the ext would fit under there. So looking for one solution that can lift all current and future vehicles.
Came on a pallet about 7'x3.5' I don't remember how high since the boxes have already been thrown out. Weight would be maybe 150# or so since the top itself is a bit over 100#
From what I understand the only difference between the HD and the SE are added supports in the lid and more cleats. It's only 30# heavier than the SE, but those added supports ups the load capacity from 400# to 1600#. Will I ever put 1600# on that thing? Probably not. but good to know I can...
As mentioned by someone else, you can disconnect either the front or the rear and fold it flat on the other side. Or they even come off all together super easily. But here are pictures of both sides open. Looks like I've got about 2 feet in the front and 2 feet in the back.
The weight difference between the SE and the HD is only 30# and the ability to load more on top if I ever chose to do so (like an ATV) was worth the extra cost and few extra pounds IMO.
Can't specify the torque, but I do exactly what you're talking about. Use it manually to break it loose, or tighten it down. And just use the power for the middle part. When putting the bolts in, I hand thread a few just to make sure I don't cross thread with the tool. But it's a HUGE time...
Since my front doors stay off more than on, I've done as others and just didn't put the bolts back in. Even with the top off, those doors aren't going anywhere unless opened. But I did find that it seemed like they didn't line up with the catch as well with the bolts out. So not sure if they...
I just sold my decked drawers. Took up too much space for me and the drawers just weren't big enough. Took a little over an hour to completely remove it from my truck and into the new owners truck. So I think the times of 30 min is pretty fair for this one once you get the hang of it. If we...
It's pretty tight back there. Looks like you might have about 2" Would be really cool if we could just move that plug into the ammo-can. Problem solved. Maybe if Decked sells enough of these, they might come out with a dedicated Gladiator ammo can with the receptacle or a spot to move our...
Definitely not able to plug/unplug the pigtail with decked installed. I had to take off the hook on that side and use a jack to lift it high enough to barely get the plug in there. No way would I try to do that on a regular basis. If the flap over the plug wasn't there, then sure, but at that...
That one won't work with decked though. The canister the bed rolls into won't fit between the top of the bed and the decked system. So unless they make one where the can sits higher, that wouldn't work here.
There's no seal to keep water out, but I see nothing that would direct a stream of water to the plug. Now spraying directly at it, or taking it through a car wash, you will definitely get it wet. Nice thing is, there's a button you have to push to turn that outlet on which also can only be...
I'm assuming not since it does say "Always store plug indoors" on the tag connected to the cord. Probably because of the rotating assembly on the plug.
Public Service Announcement. If you plan on using your bed plug, install the mentioned pigtail BEFORE installing the decked system. Doing after required some redneck engineering to keep from disassembling everything and some busted knuckles. But I got it in there and it works just fine...
