For everyday comms. Both GMRS and CB have a place. Find out what they use locally. For emergencies Garmin Inreach and or a starlink mini with the $5 plan. I work in remote areas alot and most times have littel to no cell. Carried and inreach for years. Someone will answer that regardless. For...
I run the aftermarket rubi bumper. I just drilled the plastic and mounted my badlands fairlead to the plastic and into the bumper. Did need a longer bolt but so far held up fine.
I run the Badlands whinchs on all my jeeps. I dont use them weekly or even monthly. On my JT its never been used other than spooling rope on it. For other stuff I like the Rhino branded stuff and have had good luck with it. Even have trailer straps and associated stuf from them. I do have a few...
I travel for work. Alot of the areas I'm in has no cell. I still run a GPS in my truck as well as a handheld sattalite GPS to send messages. I do have a StarLink Mini but the GPS is easy. We still use it when we travel and have cell as its just there ticking away. Dont have to remember to plug...
Yes thats the simple terms but for most of the folks it makes sense. There is not a mobile radio you dont need a license for so thats a good rule of thumb. And yes I agree many do not get the licese but should.
IT would help if you had some pictures or could tell us what model antenna's you are using. I run the Laird UF pepper shaker on my JK and a Laird TriBando n my Gladiator. Both are on cowl mounts and both are well within specs
I have run the Blue OX mounts since 2009 on my JK. I have recently ordered anotehr set for my new JK as well as my JT. One bolt definately goes thru the frame horn. Depending on mounting points they work well.
I extended my AUX line ot the rear as well for the exact reason you list. I used 12G to to a 12V power port. Jackery is plugged into the PP and Fridge is in the JAckery. Drove to Yellowstone last summer (6000 miles total) and not once had an issue with fuses or dead equipment.
I used the JL one on mine and although a bit more work in the end its fine. We still normally tow the JK but I setup the JT to be towed as well. I like the factory style of the Mopar harness.
