What exactly is it that your team can help me with? I've attempted to convince my dealer that the issue could potentially be fixed by replacing the steering box but they have yet to acknowledge that. Elmwood Jeep in East Providence Rhode Island. I've basically driven they're entire rental fleet...
Lmao I actually just called the dealership a few minutes ago and told them to replace it. Thank you for the input thought. I'm hoping I can finally get this sorted.
Absolutely. It's 100% cold weather related. The ride stiffening up is also strange to me and feels like they have to be related in some way. It gets much more jarring over bumps which I think is causing more vibrations leading to DW. I could be wrong but I have a suspicion that they are related.
Absolutely. I've already called and asked them to replace the steering box as well since Jeep issued a service bulletin on that a couple months back. Maybe they'll replace my entire front end by the time this is over who knows lmao .
Last year it would only happen around 38°. Today is the first time it happened above that. It's going to warm up again this week tho and I can almost guarantee that it will completely go away until it gets cold out again. I don't understand it at all lmao
It's
Yup it's extremely confusing. I wish I knew what was wrong. I honestly think that with this JL/JT Generation, Jeep screwed up on the overall suspension geometry and they just replace the steering damper as a bandaid.
Trust me dude it's completely weather related. The ride of my jeep completely changed in the cold as well. It gets much bouncier and Death Wobble only occurs when it's below 45°. I've been able to replicate it at least 20 times over the past year and it's only in the cold weather.
Yup. It's not fun man. I've had so many issues with my Gladiator, I'm honestly getting sick of it. I love it don't get me wrong, but I've owned many vehicles over the years and I've had more issues with this one Jeep than I've had on all of my other cars combined. You hear the rumors that FCA...
All of this input has been very helpful. I do however find it very strange that it is only happening in colder weather. I never have any issues when it's warm out.
Thank you for the advice. The dealership found it "reasonable" to order me a new track bar as well as a new steering stabilizer. This will be my 2nd one. I'm relatively new to solid axle vehicles so I don't really know what I'm looking for tbh when checking for worn parts. Is there somewhere you...
Had death wobble last winter. My steering damper was replaced by the dealership back in March. Since then I've had no issues.....until today. 45° out, 72mph on I-95. I started to feel a little shimmy earlier this morning but tried to ignore it. But then, going over an overpass...BOOM. Death...

Have the same cover. I highly recommend putting a towel or something under the sport bar when it rains outside as it does like to puddle up in the middle of you don't. Other than that it's been great for me.
Just got my Jeep back from the dealership. They we're able to replicate the DW and found it necessary to replace the steering damper. It's about 43° out right now so it's not quite cold enough for me to see if it's truly fixed but the front end does feel much tighter over even little bumps in...
