One of the benefits of investing in "an all of the above" market strategy vs single-tech regulations and subsidies, let the best innovator win with the lowest TCO: https://www.fleetequipmentmag.com/electric-powertrain-truck-hyliion/
Suprisingly its not as rare as I thought. Can be fun when your successful and you get high five out of it! I've had two opportunities since owning the JTR in the greater Houston area. Once in Freeport near the mouth of the brazos to save sedan in the sand dunes and a truck that kinda sunk after...
Hard to survive the concrete jungle of Houston, water has no where to go! I've seen that ditch several times and I get it, it would be way faster for my personal Home Depot runs to get back home going south from there too. I suppose Lowes has a competitive advantage to keep it there
I've gone a little further and added an compact impact to my toolkit, usually won't need it on the road but it sure comes in handy wherever i end up for other odds jobs (most recent was a family brake job/tire changing).
Standard load (minimum):
Metric compact 3/8 set
odd socket goodies (bendy...
Only additional consideration (to your last question) is perhaps adjustment of the trackbar. When adding the additional weight to the front end (in form of winch and bracket) you may droop a bit, no one can tell you how much, but that will force the trackbar to push the front axel slightly to...
Update: Went through installing my first set of bushings on the rear arms. Was able to get the larger red ones removed/pressed with a workshop vice and prybar, pretty straight forward. I did notice that replacement part was a solid colored material (red joints) vs translucent material. The lower...
Depending on your seats, on the Rubicon (or leather seats with Molle) the front seats have tabs in behind the seat, towards the bottom below the molle that perfectly fit grocery bags (and definitively a take-out "food saver", don't ask me how I know so much about transporting Soba noodle bowls)...
The velcro is really strong so i would plan to apply it and leave it to sit awhile. I left 4in or so of the bedside velcro offset from the rug itself so i could put pressure on the strip with one hand when removing the rug so it doesn't pull out, there is so much velcro it pretty much doesn't...
I second VisionX on quality, I’ve used some of their original solstice pods for over 10 years on my adventure/dual sport bikes and still running strong even with all the submersions, mud, bugs, battery failures etc. If they are anything like that old model, plan to keep them around for awhile.
Maybe a interesting idea, would you be able to increase the horizontal coverage to completely remove/forego the tailgate or perhaps close slightly above an open tailgate? Kinda like those farm tailgates. I’m not sure I can see the locking mechanism working in the open position but I would like...
I opened mine up and undid the wound up spring holding the key by a single revolution, now the key stays in. If I want the key I have to flip it out with some force or dig my nail into the ridge on the key. Haven’t had to use it regularly so its a mute point for me.
I did the front in one day and the rear on another day. I spread the work over a couple weekends and did some in between work to do a new bumper/winch and sector shaft brace, so I couldn’t tell you exactly (taking front bumper off helped a lot on working on the front end). I also used my...
Positive report back on my ProX install (DIY). Everything went well, the ride with the RRD 2.25 shocks is great as well (especially for the mrs who is more used to the planted feeling on her Acura). My caster was a bit off when I went to check alignment (Driver: 5.2 and Passenger: 4.8). With the...
Mine were off about 1/4 inch as well. The other challenge I had was the emergency brake bracket was an 1/8 inch too wide for the holes to line up in the front. Nothing a dremel couldn’t solve in about 5mins for either issue.
Do you have any pictures of LED fogs/bumper from above? I’m having clearance issues with the fog connectors and the winch, thinking of trimming them unless I can move things around a bit.
+1 on the lower skid, took Skillsaw to it on Sunday just waiting to paint it, didn’t have room to rotate...
Quick question for anyone who received a no limits version. I received my sway bar links and noticed the bodies were different lengths, maybe a quarter to half an inch, is that normal? I’m not sure what to make of it as I can adjust them to the appropriate length of 11 inches as recommended, it...
May have been mine lol, all white rubicon on the Beltway headed towards I10. No lift yet (but soon) and 35s with close backspacing to avoid the bro-dozer. I’ve lived with all black cars and trucks for so long so I went the opposite with the Texas heat (used to live further west in Austin and...
