  1. My Do-It-All Gladiator

My in town mileage is around 14.5, maybe a bit more. I haven't been on a longer trip yet with the bed cap, so I don't know an honest highway mileage with it. I suspect it'll be at best around 18, though. My best on the highway before the bed cap was a little over 19. Now with the cap, I also...
  2. My Do-It-All Gladiator

Very similar to mine. I stuck with the 35s, so I'm geared to 4.56. I did end up replacing the Mopar lift with Clayton springs and arms (3.5 rear and 2.5 front). The Mopar lift sagged more than I wanted with the cover, even with 3/4" spacers.
  3. Gladiator bent frame offroading with trailer? Why do you think this happened?

I bought a tongue scale years ago. I've only used it a few times, but it is good piece of mind to know you've set tongue weight correctly.
  4. 4:10 rings for $200 with 12K on them - for 35" or 37" eventually?

I don't think the point is whether 4.10s in general will work on a 3.73 JT carrier, it's more whether 4.10s off the Max Tow/Rubcon carriers will work in a standard axle. I can tell you I've talked to my gear guy and from what he and his gear supplier has said, the carriers at least, are specific...
  5. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

It's not uncommon for the control box to be off center. What you want to pay attention to is where the cable/rope spool sits in relation to the fairlead. As long as those two are co-located, you're good.
  6. Arizona Complete Pair of Gladiator Rubicon Axles - $4,000

Sure. If you're otherwise happy with the axles you have and if you're good with ARB air lockers, you're correct. There's no reason you would buy Rubicon axles. But if you prefer e-lockers and you want the wide track axles, your only option at this point are the Rubicon take offs (or get a...
  7. Arizona Complete Pair of Gladiator Rubicon Axles - $4,000

I think his point is that you were a bit optimistic on your numbers, when trying to debate the going rate on Rubicon axle take-offs. $2000 for lockers is accurate if you want ARBs, but you do need to add $$$ for an onboard air solution and setup. Then I'd like to know where you're getting gears...
  8. Heater/AC blowing hot air at 60 or higher

The HVAC issues I've had in my last two FCR vehicles remind me of a bomb lift trailer I worked on in the 80s. It's clear the engineers came up with some of their ideas while they were drinking or enjoying some other form of mind enhancement. It's also clear those engineers have never actually...
  9. Heater/AC blowing hot air at 60 or higher

We've noticed this exact same behavior, in addition to the other stuff in this thread. Same deal we first noticed on a trip to Texas. It doesn't seem like the cold air stops blowing, but every hour it seems like the truck dumps a bucket of humid swamp ass in the cabin.
  10. Spare tire- tire pressure monitor

Correct. Unless you put one in the spare, the stock spare does not have a TPMS sensor. At least mine didn't.
  11. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

I'm not sure that bed would fit a Gladiator. The Brute is a pickup conversion for Wranglers, that's been around for years.
  12. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Cool, we'll have to catch up sometime. I'm on 35s, but don't have lockers yet. I watched a couple of videos of Hurricane Creek, I agree it looks doable from what I can see.
  13. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Cool. My brother has a place up in Jefferson and he used to live in Wilkesboro and he used to have a Jeep. We've done a couple of the fire roads up there, but I have no idea where I was. I've been looking for places to take the Gladiator. I've had a couple of more built Jeeps in the past and did...
  14. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

We're down in Concord, so it's a bit of a trip, but we've been going up Wilson's Creek Gorge to Blowing Rock for ribs at Woodland's for years. Sometimes we then ride down the parkway to have pie at Louise's. We've also been going out to Wiseman's view for years, but I only recently rode up old...

Did you stop by Louise's while you were in the area?

    LOL, you first...

I'm no wizard and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but... I've run in pretty much all configurations. I don't have a great storage solution for the hard top, and I'm not happy with the Mopar safari top, so we've only spent a couple days with all doors and top off...
  18. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I would say for any of these type covers your best case scenario at this point is having the freedom panels in place in heavy rain, even if they're just sitting there. Otherwise any temporary soft cover is going to tend to pool water in heavy rain. I haven't seen them yet for JLs or JTs, but...
  19. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yeah, agree on the local management making a huge difference. It's the same for Home Depot, Lowe's, pretty much everything. A crap local manager can make or break a location. For me, Discount Tire is the only place I trust in our area. I've watched them dismount a tire and re-mount it, to get...
  20. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Mine didn't replace the entire grab handle, just one of the mounting bolt hole covers. I'm also happy I saw someone place the mount on the lower side of the handle. They advertise using the upper mount, but it works on both. IMHO the bottom mount is a better mount position with a bonus of not...
