I have one of each. The chassis on the JTR is different than on my JLUR, the gas tank arrangement is different, etc. It just won't fit unless they redesign the JT chassis layout. Too bad because I like the full-time/part-time tranny on the JL and would like it on the JT.
As Shadows Papa described, it is the vacuum pump for the brake booster. Engines don't make as much vacuum as they used to - especially once carburetors with throttle bodies went away. Under certain conditions the vacuum isn't sufficient for a sustained brake pedal response so the electric vacuum...
If warranty is still in effect you definitely don't want to exceed the time intervals. Later on you can do what you want. While oils themselves really don't wear out, the additives in them do. They evaporate, age and just plain break down over time so it's a good idea to change them regardless...
Glad to see you're okay, and that the other driver made it out okay, although a bit more for worse. Jeeps are built like tanks for the most part. I recall seeing an episode of Jay Leno's Garage where he went to a testing center where they had this big battering ram that raced down a track and...
While I have a Rubicon, my son has an Overland. No lockers. OEM street tires replaced with Duratrac tires and we did install a complete Rockhard skid plate package, Rockhard front bumper and winch, and a skid plate for the trailer hitch receiver. He took it to Ouray this summer on Ophir...
Speedometers are calibrated by the circumference of the tire. Normally the circumference of the tire is 3.1416 (Pi) times the diameter. The problem is that tires aren't solid and air pressure changes affect the diameter (height) of the tire when the truck is just sitting there. For rock rolling...
Yeah, more than a little. :(
As a tech writer for RV magazines I'm quite familiar with the towing requirements. The Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of a motorhome, or any other tow vehicle, covers the weight of the tow vehicle as well as whatever it is towing. The GCWR does assume that the...
I used a relay with my KC lights. The relay coil was feed by a tap into the high beam circuit right behind the curbside headlight and then went to ground. The power to the common contact came from my Aux1 switch source and the normally open output went to the driving lights. That means that the...
in addition to those 4 wires under the hood there is a second set of wires in the cockpit. They are located underneath the dash above the passenger's footwell. You can use either set. For example, I used the under-hood wires for Aux 1 to power my driving lights while I used the Aux 3 wires in...
Nothing to cut up. They got it moved and traffic has resumed.

I got into Jeep's a bit late, if you don't count the old Forward Cab Willys with dump bed my dad had and I drove back in the early 70s.

I had a similar issue. It turned out that there was a wiring harness behind the dash that was pinched during assembly that caused the data buss to short out. I had to have mine towed to the dealer where they pulled hair out of their heads trying to figure it out. Once they nailed it down they...
I'm an administrator on the TiffinrvNetwork forum. I se the same thing there. Tiffin owners have a Facebook page but it's the same situation as on here. The only useful information and courteous dialog is on the forums, not Facebook.
Ditto on the Rockhard. Have used them on numerous Jeeps over the years. Detailed the install at http://www.rvtechmag.com/features/92_gladiator.php and had the chance to test one during a breakaway once and everything held up just fine with no damage. Very strong stuff.
5K miles since last October. Zero issues and it has the same 3.6 that was in our 2012 JK Wranglers. 90K miles on one of them and 14K on the other with no issues either.
