    Thinish but hard, like a thicker sheet metal. Ferrous, stuck to the drain plug magnet and came out like a snake. I'll spin the axle later when I get a chance. Thanks for the thoughts so far. Powertrain warranty expired 4-5 months ago, so no joy there.

    Not crazy. Build it like you would an off-road buggy. Carbed hemi, Dana 60s, half doors, sheet metal or plastic dash. Hell, you'll be done before some people decide which gears to go with.

    Looks like Harrop is taking pre-orders for a new elocker. https://www.harrop.com.au/shop/elocker-jeep-wrangler-jl-jt-gladiator They show the same part number for front and rear. Seems like what they sell are just branded Eaton units, so hopefully the truetrac will follow eventually.

    This may be relevant with your attempt at eliminating exhaust drone; coming from the g8 world where many complained about this problem, at least one manufacturer used helmholtz resonators in an attempt reduce drone. It's the J shaped section near the end of the system.
