Thought I would touch base. Enjoying a weekend in the woods with no concern about what is going on in the world. Stopped watching the news a while ago.
Enjoying the outdoors living like there is no tomorrow.
I buy used as well, both Colts mentioned are used hypothetically. I prefer used with character, = less $ then new vs used and abused, = cheapest.
So yes I would buy used parts for the JT with normal wear (character) vs used parts with preventable damage (stupid). Saving money in the end over...
All depends on the type of wear. If it's natural such as scratches from the trails yes
But if it's an accident type of damage that could have been prevented I would pass.
Think of it this way. A used Colt 1911. It may be used, wear from carrying, finish has rubbed off in all the right places...
That sounds good. I will need to start searching some camping areas near by those places. I was stationed at Ft Campbell back in 1992-1996, I liked land between the lakes.
Well that was stupid, how do I edit this title to say at work? I was too busy thinking about Jeeps today at work and in a hurry when I posted this thread also while working.
I find myself thinking about Jeeps almost, well practically all day in some form. For one, I find myself on this Forum. As soon as I pull in the parking lot I scan for any other parked Jeep. I always walk past a lifted Jeep of some sort even when it's out of my way.
I'm always thinking about...
Sometimes we meet at McDondalds before heading out to the trails. One time after a long day wheeling, we took a break, I was feeling hungry. Looked at my door panel and seen a Mc Donald's sack. Opened it and found a sausage mc muffin that was forgotten. After a few trail pops, that sandwich was...
There has to be something said about Redneck ingenuity. I enjoy seeing creative ideas to simple improvements that are not store bought.
I've seen many good ideas on here but they tend to get lost on older threads over time.
I say let's consolidate ideas, thoughts, and improvements. Maybe you...
From past experiences, everyone who owns a jeep has some tools. When someone breaks on the trail, more times than not there is always a short supply of 3/8" extensions. We have literally gone down the line collecting extensions. So if at all buy extras and make sure they are the wobble...
Thank you, I do a lot of camping and from the beginning of buying the Gladiator I had overlanding in mind. I like your set up as it leaves options for bringing things home in the bed when needed.
For me I would gravitate to aluminum skids. I have no experience with them yet only steel Teraflex on the TJ. My thought is light weight and will not rust.
I'm sold on aluminum after seeing how well it held up on Stepchild at Lite Brite Nation. I think it was Metalcloak. They showed skids...

I also read somewhere the material used in the JL windshield is lighter. If I find a reference I'll post. I'm not sure if the glass is same for JT?
But I definitely know the JL windshield has a cracking issue.
