I've carried a hi-lift on my jeep for years, then one time I blew a tire and coasted into the center median on the interstate. The hi-lift was nearly worthless because you have to jack super high to account for axle droop, and as it goes up the body wants to tip into the jack and tear up your...
Interesting thread, though I did not read all of it. I was wondering if the JT was tanking, since I see almost none in my City. I'd like one, but the price is too high. All said and done, the dealer wanted my 2011 Rubicon + $30K for a JT Sport (not S) with max tow and a lift. Just too much...
Agree with option flexibility. I was looking at a base Sport and certain options were disallowed for no apparent reason except trying to force an upgrade to Sport S or Rubicon.
Hmm. Using the spreadsheet from this site, I get invoice of $38,996, but the price I quoted includes tax and destination, which brings to $44390 here. I wonder what our mismatch is.
I asked for a price with just the lift and rock rails, and poked them a bit about little details and now they...
I got more info. The price quoted is with taxes and fees included.
The tires they are quoting are Nitto mud grapplers. I don't like these (so won't get them), but discount tire charges $337 for them, so same price.
The Mopar kits are $1500 online, not sure about shipping. So they are...
I'm contemplating trading in my 2011 JK Rubicon on a Gladiator. The sticker is below. Things are complicated by my trade in (2011 JK Rubicon 60K miles, 2" lift, 35s, very nice rear swing away bumper/carrier), and some mods I asked for:
Dealer installed Mopar 2" lift kit (incl Fox shocks...
Yes it is. I just read through 9 pages of that thread. I think the consensus is that you get some lift from the rubi springs. It would make sense they are softer than the tow package though, so if you want to tow or load up, rubi may not be the best option.
I'd still like to know about the...
A thought hit me. Is there any difference in the max tow axles besides the ratio? If not, and if adding lockers anyway, I could skip the max tow and just plan on aftermarket lockers with a gear swap. The money is mostly in the labor.
Also, anyone know if the Rubi extra lift is purely a...
Thanks. Looks better without it anyway. I think the Rubi sits an inch or two higher also, are you saying no lift required for 35's with just the Rubi fenders?
Indeed, but it depends how long you intend to keep it. At some point all the electronics start to break, so you either pay a fortune to keep fixing it, or end up going to resale with a bunch of non-functioning gadgets. Whether this is 5 years or 20, I can't say. In 5-10 the electronics will...
Bleh. The built in lift and higher fenders are important to me, and expensive to swap in. I didn't realize the lift was only needed on Sport. What is different about the hood?
Looks like Mopar has closed any loophole that would have allowed me to avoid a bunch of electronics I don't want or...
I'm a keep it simple kind of guy and really not interested in most of the gadgetry they are trying to push. I live in Arizona and have heated mirrors, among other nonsense, in my JK because I wanted the Rubicon hardware. I sat in a Sport Gladiator with crank windows and mostly stripped and...
