  1. The Case For/Against Recovery Boards

I have a set of 4 Maxtrax. While I haven't used them once for myself, I have used them to help others with success. I just consider it another tool in the arsenal. They aren't perfect for every situation, but they can help or be more convenient than other methods.
  2. Banks beats up on Pedal Commander

I bought a "Hike It" brand throttle controller and experienced a VERY dangerous situation when it failed. I removed it and could never recommend installing one of these controllers that has no fail safe built in. The Hike It worked flawlessly for almost two years until the day it didn't.... I...
  3. Start/stop not ready

The Aux battery going bad absolutely doesn't mean it will drain your main (although it could). I think you are to the point that reading on the topic will get you some answers to basic questions like this. I hate to be "that guy" by saying that, but there is indeed quite a lot written on this...
  4. Start/stop not ready

It can definitely be something other than the auxiliary battery. I've completely isolated that battery and still have this issue. Many will probably tell you to read the extensive threads on this topic. I have done that, but still don't have a solution....
  5. The wife can’t see, so let’s fix it thread (or another digital rearview mirror thread)

Interested in this too. I've got an RSI Smartcap (bed canopy) that has a stupid blind spot because of a useless pass-through window.
  6. Farewell Jeep and CJDR

I don't blame him for getting rid of it, nor venting about a lousy experience. However, trying to get a forum of enthusiasts to "Get rid of yours while you can because your hinges will corrode eventually." is quite ridiculous.
  7. Farewell Jeep and CJDR

I think I'll not take your advise and just go ahead and keep my Jeep. Door hinges are not on my list of things to worry about today. Tomorrow isn't looking good either.
  8. Bestop SunScreen: JL / JT Sunshade for Sunrider for Hardtop released!

There sure is a lot of negativity towards this product..... Count me as a pre-order, this is exactly what I've been waiting for. Thanks Bestop for listening!
  9. 3.6 with air intake vs. 3.0 ecodiesel

My take is that this seems like a 'typical' dealer giving you a B.S. answer to sell you a vehicle right now vs. something not available. Adding an air intake is going to make no appreciable difference in the performance.
  10. Hard Top and Sunrider, one for winter and one for summer

I had the same idea that I would take off the Sunrider depending on the season. I installed Sunrider immediately after purchasing the Gladiator in January of ‘20 and have never found a reason to take it off. Granted, I don’t have the winters that you experience but I’ve had it in cold and snow...
  11. Hurricane engine according to AI Bard

With the complete failure of natural intelligence, I’m not inclined to trust the artificial variant. 😁
  12. Show me pictures of rocksliders that works as a running board.

Thanks for the info and I don't take it as critical at all. The Gen2 uses a gas strut instead of a Spring. This is one of the failure points and reason for the gen 3. But to answer questions, I have diligently lubricated any pivot points and made a point of keeping the interior as clean as...
  13. Show me pictures of rocksliders that works as a running board.

I'm curious on the Rock Slide Engineering recommendations if most are using the Gen 3. Seems like everybody praises the quality and support, but my experience has been different. Mine are apparently the Gen 2 and now they are on gen 3. This tells me they have sold 2 generations of very expensive...
  14. A-Pillar Water Drip (TSB 23-041-21 REV. A)

Thanks for issuing a TSB after many/most are out of warranty..... I'm sure Jeep just discovered this problem.....
  15. Jeep wave canceled

    - rampant dealer ineptitude.
  16. Anyone else feel this way?

Way better than the '67 CJ5 that I learned on. Most of the time it had brakes...

  18. Oil change at one year or at low oil life?

I have not replaced my gasket yet. I have not had any form of leak from it. If they are readily available for an application, I will change them every so often, I just have not looked for them on my Gladiator. I really don't know the details of the difference in the two Pennzoil offerings. It...
  19. Fire Fire! My Gladiator burned down

I'm not positive, but I believe it would not be possible to hook up the small battery in reverse. I don't think the cables would reach. However, when I replaced both batteries after experiencing all the 'classic' signs of a failure - ESS Not ready and Auxiliary switches not working, I was...
