  1. Gladiator vs rivian

You just sound like you dont know anything about the rivian. It comes stock with 34s (bigger than anything jeep offers) and it does not need solid axles with lockers as it has a motor at ever corner that can simulate lockers with software. It doesn't do it perfectly yet, which is why I said it...
  2. Used 21 vs New 23

Yeah, there were no rubi diesels with acc. All good, a used stormtrooper JTDR is on its way here in a few days.
  3. Gladiator vs rivian

You joke but I actually think the best EV implementation to date has been the bmw i3 with the range extender in the trunk. Great little commuter car, I might get one again if commuting in my JT gets old.
  4. Gladiator vs rivian

Thought I'd chime in as I am waiting for the Gladiator that is replacing my Rivian to be delivered. It's a very, very capable truck (the rivian). I was most impressed by it in off-road mode at the second highest ride height. For typical beaten down old fire road type stuff and/or run down...
  5. Used 21 vs New 23

Good call. I ended up going with the 21 and it does need that recall done, parts not available yet though.
  6. Used 21 vs New 23

They don’t and won’t. Too much tick toking to do to bother paying attention to the roads. Not to mention how distracting car interiors have gotten.
  7. Used 21 vs New 23

Wrong. It's already been proven things like adaptive cruise control and driver assists make for safer roads. Every time I mention ACC in any thread I get the "ain't no damn 'puter gonna drive mah car!" response when it is fact, not opinion, that computers and assists make the roads safer.
  8. Used 21 vs New 23

Yeah... I like buying new and knowing the whole history on a car but 12k is a lotta dough, and its already lifted on 35s. So its more like 17-20k.
  9. Used 21 vs New 23

Yes I’m slightly ashamed to admit I’ve had both a 3.6 JT and a diesel JL already with acc. It’s way too aggressive on the accelerations but the diesel lag calms it down a bit. What I found is if you put it in manual mode and force it to a gear it calms it down even more. On the flip side I have...
  10. Used 21 vs New 23

I did the same in the stick shift era to Manhattan. 30 years ago you could live through it. But traffic is so incredibly bad these days anything I can throw money at to make my life easier is worth it.
  11. Used 21 vs New 23

I live south of Boston and commute in. It's about 10 miles at a minimum daily in stop and go traffic for a minimum of 45 minutes. Once you go ACC around here you never go back. I've had 6-7 cars with it at this point. It also makes long hauls quite a bit less work. Just left lane and relax.
  12. Used 21 vs New 23

Yes. Odds are they don't have advanced safety group.
  13. Used 21 vs New 23

That's good news, the '20 steering box with the 3.6 was godawful once you put tire and suspension on it.
  14. Used 21 vs New 23

I am looking for a very specific build (diesel, rubicon, ACC) and there are basically none new in the nation and only a few used. I don't necessarily need the cost savings of going used but if there are no changes I might as well spend less on the used one. The build is about 69k discounted...
  15. 2023 Builder - "Enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control"

In order to have full "stop and go" you need an electronic parking brake. The JT/JL only have "ACC with stop" and then it disengages after 5 seconds or so because there is no electronic parking brake the system can use to hold the vehicle. I'm not saying it makes sense, because it holds it...
  16. 2023 Builder - "Enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control"

Pretty sure lane departure requires electric steering, which I don't think the jt or jl have (neither my old jt or jl had any steering assist). I also believe acc with stop and go requires an electronic parking brake, which we also don't have.
  17. 2023 Builder - "Enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control"

This is listed along side "Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop". Anyone know if its any different than the previous ACC that would bring you to a stop then disengage in 5 seconds or so?
  18. 24+ mpg after 6 weeks on the road

    Cool. I got 12 once.
  19. 6 Speed Manual Regrets?

I did regret it and I did get the auto instead. With the diesel attached to it. I love driving stick, but its pretty unenjoyable in that truck.
  20. V6 3.6 vs. EcoDiesel for daily driver

I only read the title. Get the diesel. The gas v6 is the worst engine ever put in a jeep. it does nothing well.
