  1. P0300 Misfire Before Gladiator had 400 Miles on it. Back to the dealership for the 3rd time.

Hey Forest, how did you work the warranty? I’m at 5k miles now, about 3k since I’ve had any issues (other than one pending p300 code that never threw the CEL) but would still like to look into the extended warranty.
  2. Survey- For those with misfire issues

So I’m now at 3946 miles, some 1300 miles since it was last in the shop having the left side guts replaced. This morning I got the first ESS light I’ve seen since back then. Thanks to the wizards in this forum, I checked the codes (I now keep a scanner in the console, which I shouldn’t have to...

Hey, Gunny. If your state has Lemon Laws like mine, you DEFINITELY want to take it in when the CEL comes on, even if it goes back off. In Kansas, four visits to the dealership for the same issue within the first year is a qualifier for a replacement vehicle. As for me, it's been just almost 1K...
  4. Survey- For those with misfire issues

The “Not Ready” could be typical, as a number of things spawn that - including how long since ESS was active. As for me, I’ve put about 400 miles on mine since the engine work posted previously, which puts me just over 3K. While I’ve not (yet) seen any lights, in the last few days, other...

Oh, you SO just jinxed it...
  6. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Latest update. I’ve been driving the Gladiator for just under a week now and have not had further issues. However, that week equates to about 100 miles, so there may not have been time for things to materialize quite yet. We’ll see. I’ve posted the work sheet from the service department which...
  7. Survey- For those with misfire issues

@DTrees that just sucks, man. What is the lemon law requirement for where you live? In Kansas, if they've had it more than thirty days or four times for the same event, or any 10 events in the first year, you're in legal land.
  8. Survey- For those with misfire issues

I got mine back last Friday after an email to the CEO of the dealership about my concerns. As of this moment, no recurrences of the CEL or the ESS fail. The dealership replaced the left side cam, the #6 following arm, and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head. I'll see about...
  9. 2021 Gladiator Order Banks Open (Diesel Now Available)!

Per the spec guide, it does not appear the diesel is available for the Mojave package. Only one missing it as an option.
  10. Survey- For those with misfire issues

A: I love the idea of adding a couple hundred horsepower to my JT... B: That's the problem, though. If it is a cam phaser issue, Jeep should be broadcasting that to the service centers via a bulletin. That's not happening. If it's some other software related issue, Jeep should be sending out a...
  11. Survey- For those with misfire issues

My only issue with the "break it in" logic is: show me in the owner's manual where it dictates that the vehicle should be driven aggressively for x number of miles to accommodate a learning algorithm in the engine. I'd check, but my manual is in the Jeep. At the dealership. Still.
  12. P0300 Misfire Before Gladiator had 400 Miles on it. Back to the dealership for the 3rd time.

Hi, @lewishouse Please feel free to add your story to the survey thread on this topic here: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/posts/523100/
  13. P0300 Misfire Before Gladiator had 400 Miles on it. Back to the dealership for the 3rd time.

It was one of those "that's not possible" moments with the service tech - until I went to the ESS status page with the CEL on and it pretty clearly said "ESS Ready." It had auto-stopped several times on the way to the dealership...
  14. P0300 Misfire Before Gladiator had 400 Miles on it. Back to the dealership for the 3rd time.

Mild clarification: I am having both P0300 and P0306 codes, as well as the accompanying "Service ESS" prompts. It's also interesting that the ESS system will sometimes still function, even with the CEL illuminated. That surprised me.
  15. P0300 Misfire Before Gladiator had 400 Miles on it. Back to the dealership for the 3rd time.

Good clarification, but that brings about the question of how centralized the management of the situation is at Jeep. At my service center, I was told Jeep engineers asked if the dealer "had replaced the spark plug" of the cylinder (P0306) throwing the error. Huh? Are you talking with the rest...
  16. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Then maybe my dealership wouldn’t be so eager to perform open-heart surgery on my Jeep... They’re one part away from that. Only good things come from assorted parts from the core of the engine being haphazardly replaced on the hope it will make a difference.
  17. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Sorry to hear that, but sad to say not surprised. I spent a good amount of time at the dealership today (where I also took note of the build date of my JT - October 2019). The service manager seemed uninformed on the issue and basically chided me for using the internet as a resource, as though I...
  18. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Hey @JayHop. Yes, my mileage numbers were between 13.6 and 14.6 consistently since I've been having this issue. I really just thought of the ESS dropping offline and misfire codes as more of a nuisance until I started researching and found it to be more ominous. The MPG was one of the things...
  19. Survey- For those with misfire issues

Awe shucks, missed it by one month. This seems to be somewhat of a trend. Ironically, I don't even know my build date, because my JT is still in the shop so I can't get to it. Happy Independence Week, everyone!
  20. Survey- For those with misfire issues

I’m gonna guess late fall last year... maybe October-ish.
