Yes my fuel mileage dropped when I changed bumpers on my Overland. I think what happens is taking off the shield under the bumper which I believe adds some aerodynamic’s is the culprit. I went from getting a solid 18 down to 14-15 mpg.
I love mine! What you have to realize is that there are problems with any vehicle no matter what the brand and people will always find something to gripe about. Buying a new truck is a roll of the dice you just have to hope that you get a good one.
I have been away from the rustproofing business for 33 years and I am sure that a lot has changed. Ziebart had changed their requirement of using only their sealant the last couple of years that I was doing it. I never used anything but their sealant because if done right the vehicles would not...
Anytime that you add, delete or replace parts on any front end it should go to an alignment shop. With that said, I did the same to my truck without any problems .
No, after they came back with three prices I told them the only way that I would take the deal was with the lift installed. But yes I am sure it was in there somewhere.
I did the teraflex lift last weekend. I have the 2” Mopar lift but hated the rake that it still had. So I put the full 1-1/2” on and the truck is level now. I figured that since they don’t say anything about needing longer control arms with that lift and the Mopar lift already has them that it...
No offense taken. If you read my post it says “ if done correctly” I owned an worked at a Ziebart franchise and I knew of a lot of franchises that didn’t use the sealant from Ziebart. Those cars would rust just like any other car. Even vehicles that were done with the Ziebart sealant if not...
Try to find a Ziebart Rustproofing shop. It’s the best rustproofing you can get done to a vehicle. If done correctly it will not rust from the inside out and the complete bottom is coated inside and out. The downside is that you will hate working on the bottom after you have it done.
I wasn’t talking about truck value. It’s extra cost of the motor versus the gas motor. Unless you are towing every day it won’t even out. Even if the gas motor gets less mileage the fuel is less to buy.
I agree. I don’t use them and when you get out you drag your leg over them and any mud or dirt get on you. But the wife likes them so they will stay I guess.
I have had diesel work trucks for twenty years. 4x4 van and utility body trucks. I can tell you from my experience that they are not worth the extra expense. I know that they get better fuel mileage but when you compare mileage of gas versus just Diesel engine cost it’s not worth it.
Look at Quadratec wheels. They have a set that are old school to the “T”. I have had a set ordered since 12/31 can’t wait for them to come back in stock.
