  1. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

Thanks to Exceed Fabrication post, I realize I unintentionally included some built in attachment capability on the outside of the extrusions running from from to back. I could add some mounting points anywhere along the rails for brackets or tie down points. I could see even add some raised...
  2. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

Thank you for the suggestion. I don’t have any experience with that tape. I’ll check it out.
  3. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

Hey, no problem! I appreciate your input and sharing your project. I had thought of doing the extrusion approach several years ago, but I couldn't figure out how to do the tailgate end. So I didn't do anything. Then two months ago, I thought about just adding a piece of rubber block or flap to...
  4. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

Thanks for sharing your Exceed Project. I really like the approach you are taking. The extra height is great. The tailgate is definitely a challenge. Fortunately my approach is very workable since it is only a two inch gap to work with. Good luck on your new product!
  5. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

I never thought of it that way. I guess I should look at adding some new shocks to it too :)
  6. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

I also like the flush look and was concerned about making it look clunky. After using it on my off-roading trip in Colorado, I’m ok with the look for now. And it make the factory trail rails easier to use too.
  7. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

Yes, regarding the extrusion at the tailgate end. I drilled holes thru the tonneau cover end piece and screwed it to the extrusion using the supplied channel nuts. For now I covered the extrusion with some heavy gorilla duct tape. I’m going to make a better flap seal for it for a better look.
  8. Tonneau Cover - Adding Extra Height (2" inches) experiment

One complaint I've had with my hard tonneau cover is the limited height it provided when closed. Plus, I have a Bed Rug that further reduces height. I decided to try a solution using extruded aluminum to add two inches of extra height. I was able to buy some 2"x2" extrusion for the sides and the...
  9. Went retro look on some wheels: Fifteen52 Analog HD wheels

I really like the look. I also got a great deal on a set of these and painted them Jeep Desert Sand to contrast with my Gator color. I think the grey is a nice contrast with the Sarge Green.
  10. Mickey thompson or Kenda klever rt?

I installed the Kenda Klever RT601 35/10.5-r17 back in 2021 on factory spare tire wheels. Loved them. They went rock crawling and lots of highway miles. They were very quiet and smooth. After 30K miles, they still have 6-7 32nds. I changed to BFG KO2 37/12.5-R17 to get more clearance and more...
  11. Accuair is it worth the money

Yea, the cost is high. it was quite a bit cheaper last year when I bought, and got a little discount then, too. A 4” Metalcloak or Teraflex was about $4-5000 depending on shocks at that time. So I was willing to pay more for the flexibility it could provide. Works great off-roading, and I like...
  12. Accuair is it worth the money

I bought the Kit last year and installed it myself. It is not hard but takes time. And finding air leaks can be frustrating. I had a Mopar 2” lift that I had installed by the dealer and it was fine. But wanted a little more clearance off-roading. This now sets at 4” height in middle setting. It...
  13. Jurassic Jeeps

Those graphics are super clean and tasteful! Thanks for sharing.
  14. OEM Gladiator Steel Wheels

Hi Whiteglad, that is interesting to know about the different steel wheel configuration for Mojave’s. Do you know what the offset is for the Mojave version? I want to assume that it pushes the tire out further? Thanks
  15. Anyone go with more narrow 35” tires?

I’ve been running Kenda Klever 35/10.5/17 for about two years, 20k miles. I have a 2” Mopar lift and stick Jeep spare tire rims painted to match. They have been great on highway and performed well at several Jeep Jamborees (Moab, Tillmook, Uwharrie, SMORR, Llanno, and lots of Colorado trials)...
  16. Started Our Trip Out West [Live Trip Updates]

Great pictures. I think we saw a few of the same sites you visited. Love to see those that we missed. Stay safe and have fun.
  17. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

I have had the genesis dual battery setup for a little over a year. I probably would NOT do it again due to the cost. It was over $1000 with me doing the labor. It has worked well. I have used the boost button several times due to something draining my primary battery. This was my main Reason...
  18. Trans-America Trail (TAT) through NM and CO

That sounds like a great adventure. Glad you made it thru safely.
  19. 35/10.5/17 Kenda RT

I have them on stock Mopar steel wheels but I have a 2” Mopar lift. Didn’t try them without a lift but I believe they would be fine unless you did some a heavy off-roading. I have had no problems in 20k miles.
  20. OEM Gladiator Steel Wheels

I couldn’t get Jeep caps to fit. I found some black rubber caps for PVC pipe that I installed over the center hole. I use black tie-wraps to hold them on.
