OMG your post gives me hope!!
I’m in the process of ordering the Venator- long story- my teen wrecked my Jeep avoiding an accident with a guy who turned left with no signal in the dark, in the country…around a 50mph turn ugh! Thank you Jeep- everything held up but bumper & fender need replaced...
I got my 20000 service today. (I was actually at 26000) fir some reason when I was at 20000 in TX they only did the normal oil change?!
Anywhoo I took it to my local dealer, and they did the normal oil change and 5 tire rotation as well as changed the engine and cabin air filters and flushed...
A few questions:
I got the Dreaded rock chip and crack to the windshield yesterday. Ugh!
1) I do NOT have the Advanced Safety with ACC (auto cruise) and auto braking for collision avoidance but DO have the blind spot and cross path detection.
If I’m having window replaced do I have sensors I...
Somehow I’ve made it 24000 miles, including a trip from LA to Houston and back, Texas driving county roads for a month, and yesterday driving, no work trucks in sight...a freaking chip and crack. Called insurance (AAA) it’s my $500 deductible to repair or replace...they connected me to 3rd party...
This started happening to me...ALL the time! It was the least of other concerning “behavior” which included the infotainment system intermittently shutting off and then rebooting itself, ending phone calls, GPS etc. for a directionally challenged person it was nerve wracking when driving in...
That just doesn’t make sense! They don’t need to remove suspension and wheels/tires, to access and replace the steering box (gear)! Ridiculous that they believe lift and tires void warranty! Jeeps are made to be modified!
If you go to the first page of this post the TSB with part numbers is listed. The gentlemen that answered are going off look and number, you may want to print the page and your photo for reference when you speak with the dealership.
Good luck.
Thank you! That I can work with..lol!
It’s driving so much better but after some comments about aluminum box and wrong parts number I just want the peace of mind!
I’ve seen the photos posted here but where exactly is the steering box (gear) located? In the video from awhile back about the DIY “fix” he has to remove items to get to the box...I’m an idiot I’m sure but I was looking all over the darn place last night and couldn’t figure out where it was. So...
Got my JT back last night, left the dealer and immediately had to jump on the freeway pick my son up from Covid adapted football practice, jump back on the freeway and drive 25 minutes to Covid adapted private pitching workout...the steering is a HUGE difference. First difference was right out...
I’m sorry that’s rotten. Some people have gotten pushback BUT according to the TSB verbiage, everything must check out as “ok” And “fix” would be deemed necessary by customer complaint of wandering, loss steering, etc.
Is there another dealership you can use? Have you contacted JeepCares?
Good...
The Wranglers definitely hold their value. I’m not even opening the “ad” when I see a 2004 listed for $25000...nuts!
There’s a guy a couple blocks over, small lot always has 5-15 Jeeps in various stages some to fix some ready to sell, he said since Corona the early 20s Wranglers are double or...
I’m happy they want to follow the TSB to a “t”...I’d much rather wait for the correct fix then have them Try to make it work with the old ones, he didn’t mention they were longer (why would he lol) just that they were doing what TSB asked and I was glad to hear they wanted it done right!!
