Rugged Ridge Venator full width

Installed the rugged ridge venator today, happy with the looks and the install was pretty easy. It was exactly what I'm looking for, a good looking bumper that looks stock plus. We don't do any hard rock crawling but we do quite a bit of exploring and I've backed out of more than one trail because we only had traction boards. This bumper gives me a winch plus a skid plate and its easier to access my sway bar disconnects. I may try to fab something up to close off the back of the wings. I would recommend this bumper if you're looking to move away from the plastic stock bumper, don't like the looks of the plate steel bumpers and don't do hard rock crawling.

I wish this had the ability to add some cube lights to the wings. It is the only reason I am leaning more toward the Smittybilt Stryker bumper. They both have the bull bar style that I like but for some reason RR didn't provide any light provisions on the bumper. I would rather my lights be at the bumper then all around the windshield. I love the bumper though.

OMG your post gives me hope!!

I’m in the process of ordering the Venator- long story- my teen wrecked my Jeep avoiding an accident with a guy who turned left with no signal in the dark, in the country…around a 50mph turn ugh! Thank you Jeep- everything held up but bumper & fender need replaced so instead of OEM I’m paying the difference to body shop for RR! Positive out of negative!

BUT there’s conflicting info- they can’t tell me if there’s a skid plate with the Venator plus Overrider bar set up?! And assuming there is NOT they can’t tell me if OEM plate for steel bumper will fit !
I have Overland so I don’t think I have a bumper skid at this point but I’d love to upgrade to a plate that fits.

Did you use a Jeep skid plate or after market? What fits with Venator?

The venator comes with a skid plate, its the silver part on the bottom.

Any chance I could bother you for some more close-up pics of the side of that skid? I'm just curious if they would cover the Mojave shock reservoirs adequately.
