Been following these guys on the interwebs for a while and they claim to be putting out a system for upgrading the JL/JT sound. Supposed to be superb, all the while maintaining factory look. Any insight on this? They are not new to the market, lots of good reviews from Toyota owners. I'm pleased...
I can't foresee any issues, the cab itself blocks all wind so besides theft being an issue, it should work. Dis you you drill through you top for the rack?
To answer your questions,
-I see no reason to disassemble the whole thing to remove, only remove where it attaches to the bed.
- I have about 28 inches from the tire to the tailgate, plus there is space on the sides of the tire.
- The tire is solid as a rock once mounted, no issues.
Overall...
As I continue my search for new Sport/Chase Roll Bar options, I happened to come across this picture as I was looking for a universal spare tire mount as well. I can't find any further info on it. Anyone have any leads on this? The tire mount is made by Rugged Ridge but I don't think they offer...
It's not like I'm excited about drilling in to the hard top but that is where I would place a RTT. When bare, I like the low profile look of it all. For now, if luckey, I would only go out camping a couple of times a year, and NOT in this heat.
Exactly what I want, just will need to find a way to attach a rtt to the rear rails and mount the roof rack further to the rear so the freedom panels may be removed easily.
I totally understand. I went through the same with Ace Engineering when I ordered their new fenders and trail doors for my JKU. I actually paid and had to wait. but it was well worth not having to settle for a second choice.
Let's cut these guys some slack folks, we waited 27 years for the Gladiator, this won't kill us. 2020 is just a shit year, I'm happy to be able to drive a JT, just gonna focus on other upgrades in the meantime.
