For now I am running the stock shafts. I am rather judicious with the use of the throttle. I try to finesse over stuff rather than rely on wheel spin and bouncing.
I have heard a couple of thoughts on that as well. One is that the OEM shafts become the fuse to protect other components. If I...
Hey All,
I have owned two Mojaves.
The first, I put on an AEV spacer lift with Geo brackets, adjustable track bars and 37" tires. I loved the way that drove but always wanted a little more.
I ended up selling that (HUGE MISTAKE) and eventually bought a new Mojave.
This one, I did things a...
Mine didn't show any codes, just ticking. The first dealer I took it to wouldn't tear into it to look because they didn't hear anything unusual and didn't have codes. It slowly got loud enough so that it was undeniable and the second dealer opened it up to look.
My engine started making a slight tick at 8k miles. Took it in for oil change at 10k for oil change and diagnosis. They said they couldn't hear anything and didn't do any tear down.
Took it in to a different dealer at 13k as the ticking was getting louder. They called to say I need four new...
I had a JK that I put 65k miles on and the only issue was an oil pressure sending unit.
A '20 Mojave that I put 20k miles on and it was perfect.
My '22 started ticking at 5k miles and continues to tick. The dealer is saying its normal and they don't hear anything. But it comes and goes and...
Hey All,
I am looking for options to add eye bolts or similar to the factory trail rails.
What generic nuts/plates will fit in the rails? I was hoping to just add a flat plate inside/ a washer and an eye bolt.
My search-foo is failing me.
I installed 2.5" Evo plush ride shocks on my Mojave. I don't like the shock extensions and want to upgrade to Fox 3.0 shocks.
They come in 2-3" lift lengths and 3.5-4.5" length.
I would assume that I would get the 2-3" but I gained 3.5-3.75" of lift OVER the Mojave lift with these coils...
Hey All,
Thanks for the comments and questions. It has been a fun project and I have learned a lot from the build. I am mostly happy as everything works the way I had imagined it would. (I also have a list of changes I would make if I ever did it again)
As for the patent thing, I didn't...
Thanks.
I used keder rail/awning rail.
it’s an aluminum extrusion channel. You sew a flexible rod into your tent and it captures the tent fabric around the rod.
Do a search for Tacoma World and DIY Wedge tent. There is a huge thread there on techniques and supplies.
The bed platform is 1.5" square tubing and 3mm ACM paneling. ACM is also called e-panel or m-panel or some other trade name depending on where you get it. The 1.5 tubing is overkill. I would probably do 1" next time.
Thanks. There is a 6" cantilever on that part of the frame going to a 3/8" bolt pivot. It is strong enough to do pull ups on the frame but the panel isn't that strong. I can sit on the frame along the edge but try not to sit my fat hiney on the panel itself. It does fine supporting the...
