  1. Dealer Trying to Void Warranty

I was just keeping it simple. I do have a toggle switch in the engine bay that cuts power to the winch unless in use. My winch isn’t remote, just a cabled controller.
  2. Dealer Trying to Void Warranty

I have a 2020 LE, bought in early 2021, adding the RSE Stepsliders in the first few weeks. Early on, had a ton of electrical gremlins that culminated with a corporate jeep team replacing several harnesses, swapping a computer, probably more. My biggest issue though was with the ESS system. A...
  3. New Jeep CEO Named (Antonio Filosa)

I kinda think Chinese cars won’t compete in the US anytime soon. First and foremost, Chinese consumer ethics around quality are already forcing a lot of insourcing back to the us across all sectors. 2nd, Chinese designs are largely ripoffs of other patented technologies in western countries that...
  4. Rockslide Engineering Gen 3 Steps - Not opening after power reset and vehicle sitting 5+ min.

If you have the door delete kit, those buttons are easy to bump. I’d double check that. also, check the sensor/magnets in the door. I have had the magnets drift just enough to cause intermittent or a consistent failure of the system.
  5. Uconnect app have remote start as part of it?

I understand passive entry and yes, I am talking about using the the Jeep/Mopar app on a 16 JKU. And Chevrolet had the feature for free as well. Both were equipped with Sirius & o star or whatever the brand version is, but no active subscription. Same with my wife’s Acura. Much more normal for...
  6. Uconnect app have remote start as part of it?

my old Silverado and even my JK, it was free. I didn’t use it often, but there were a couple instances, especially when I locked my keys in the car. it was very disappointing to have to subscribe to Sirius if I wanted the feature.
  7. Integrated "Flush" Style Roof Mounted Light Bar- Who would be interested?

If you can design it in south a way that it still allows the windshield to be folded, with it without the light, I’d consider it a home run. also huge points for a rounded bulb aesthetic.
  8. Rolled Jeep today, but everyone is safe! Repair or total loss?

Very clearly not what I said at all. That drop off the OP sent a picture of is very steep and narrow. Bridges typically have guardrails, even though people SHOULD be able to stay on top of it. Shit happens. If OP was on a public bridge and drove off the side because guardrails weren’t present...
  9. Rolled Jeep today, but everyone is safe! Repair or total loss?

I’m glad for you, but not all areas are like that. Mine is a very affluent area too. Very similar to what you describe. Our road happens to be a convenient shortcut that google has discovered over the last , so we are starting to see a fair amount of non-locals and commercial vehicles spending...
  10. Rolled Jeep today, but everyone is safe! Repair or total loss?

It’s probably worth consulting an attorney sooner rather than later, even without injuries. You may have a claim against the jurisdiction that maintains the road (or not). Also, squeeze every cent out of insurance. They do it every chance they get. Of insurance totals it and the road is fully...
  11. Pet ramp

Yep, my dog was terrified of the collapsable baording steps i got from the truck, so we started with a ramp. That was scary too, so i left the ramp flat on the ground and lined it with treats. After that mountain was conquered, it was angled into the truck. After a week of that we did steps...
  12. Pet ramp

went through some ed advanced training classes with the dog that was very smart and disciplined, but food motivated. She got to the point that she would resist training to try and get treats as well. It was starting to become a real wall for her. A very experienced trainer told me to start...
  13. Jeep Academy and hurricane Ian

If it hasn’t changed since the inaugural event I attended a couple years ago, it’s specifically designed for stock jeeps and inexperienced drivers. They want people to know what these things are capable of, and slightly push our limits, but they don’t want you to have a bad experience.
  14. Cargo cam & Forward facing cam?

Also, garmin’s Overlander tablet has the ability to display multiple cameras at once, wirelessly
  15. Told by Dealer 2023 with safety features are delayed 4-6 months.. True or False?

I think it’s just speculation from a guy that doesn’t have actual insight into the supply chain. The previous delays for the advanced technologies was being driven by the chip shortage. That is largely going away right now. Production is up, including domestic chips. Demand is also down due to...
  16. Windshield glass coating or film to help prevent cracks and chips?

The Jeep was the best thing to ever happen to my driving habits. If I want double digit mileage, I have to be lighter on the gas and no reason to speed. Besides, cornering isn’t great either.
  17. Windshield glass coating or film to help prevent cracks and chips?

honestly, I think a lot has to do with how closely you follow other vehicles. I generally use ACC and err on the side of distance. Three Jeeps going back to a jk, well over 100k miles cumulative. Only had one chip and it was from a trail, down range of a guy spinning rubber over gravel. jeeps...
  18. Has anyone done the Drummond Island trails in Michigan?

Drummond island is beautiful. It’s the UP, on the lake, cooler. Need to bring all your camping gear, but not a big deal. Strongly recommend a RTT or even more preferably, hammock camp. most obstacles have a bypass. Need to check water depth with crossings, as the area can flood and fluctuates...
  19. Ordered premium leather trimmed seats - built with this..........

You are correct Combination of leather and vinyl. The vinyl is what I used to supply. It’s in everything from a Kia to a Porsche. I believe but I’m not certain that the leat her portion is usually the highway areas so the edges etc.
  20. 2019 built JTs the most reliable due to COVID?

we made plastic that was later turned in to parts. Our testing standards were generally something like take five test throw out the outliers in the average of the other three. We would pass something and then they would double check it at the automotive plants. It wasn’t uncommon for them to...
