  1. "Service Shifter", loss of power steering, and other intermittent faults

This thread is under the EcoDiesel forum. Those of us that had this issue found a wiring harness touching an exhaust gas recirculation pipe as described in the link on the first post. Not sure where your equivalent wiring harness is or what it would be touching, but it was roughly underneath the...
  2. Software Update Today, Do I Need to Keep The Gladiator in “Run?”

Well, favorite contacts were reset to blank this morning; so much for that fix!
  3. Software Update Today, Do I Need to Keep The Gladiator in “Run?”

I've notices the update fixes two issues with "Favorites" contacts when phone is connected via bluetooth: -Previously, connecting Android Auto would make it forget your favorites. So far this morning, it isn't doing that any more. -When I had contacts with phone numbers that only differed by the...
  4. "Service Shifter", loss of power steering, and other intermittent faults

I had checked that the first day I had the truck! But I checked again before I found the thread on the JL forum. I also put this in the diesel forum, since it seems to be a diesel specific cause for this issue.
  5. "Service Shifter", loss of power steering, and other intermittent faults

Coming home from a Jeep Jamboree this weekend (no relation to this issue, other than more articulation than normal) and started getting intermittent "Service Shifter" faults, that would kick the truck out of cruise control but quickly clear, leaving no messages. There was also an occasional...
  6. Diesel owners; do you regret you engine choice?

Me: Lifetime Jeep owner, farmer with lots of Diesel driving, have a JTRD, do moderate towing. If someone starts yammering about justifying (or not) the diesel on the cost-effective basis, they have missed the point so hard you can hear the "woosh" through the internet. The tow/payload ratings...
  7. What have you been towing with your Eco Diesel

Service DEF System, see dealer. "No restart" countdown initiated. 9/2020 build date. Been super cold here. Love my JT, but this is frustrating.
  8. What have you been towing with your Eco Diesel

Diesel pulled her like a dream! Grunt to pass at interstate speeds. Up hills with only occasional downshifting. Love it more every day.
  9. VOIDED Factory Warranty after taking it through mud

My 2¢: Is mud damage covered by warranty? No, even OP doesn't claim that. So why did the first dealer flag his VIN? Because he pulled the mud-covered truck out without getting it fixed, maybe in a bit of a huff. Dealer's not stupid; figures OP is gonna run it through a car wash and pull a fast...
  10. Radiator

Can confirm. Moderate towing (2600 lb camper) with fully loaded JT on hills at highway speed in moderate weather, and I never saw the thing heat up. Up to 215F was about it, with the gauge comfortably in the middle of the range.
  11. Cold Weather Comfort - EcoD v Pentastar

I do have a Tazer, but it doesn't say anything about this. I assumed it was designed to reach operating temp faster on cold mornings.
  12. Cold Weather Comfort - EcoD v Pentastar

Central Illinois here. Had some mornings in the 20's but not super cold yet. Have noticed the EcoDiesel maintains a high idle when you remote start. This continues until you put it in run. Time to temp seems similar or quicker then my 4.0L LJ. It's a bit of an unfair comparison, as the heated...
  13. A.R.E. topper with utility shelves

Just got this cutie on the new JTRD today. Love the look and it's gonna be super useful.
  14. Progress of building and delivering the Eco-Diesel

The report is: the torque is strong with this one! (Tim "the tool man" Taylor laugh): Rah-har-har-harrr! Tightened the fuses and relays first thing. 150 miles down so far and no CEL issues! Hauled the wife, kids, car seats, Halloween candy, 3 bags of clover seed in the bed, and managed not to...
  15. Progress of building and delivering the Eco-Diesel

From the dealership. Can't wait to go pick her up!
  16. Finally picked up my Diesel Rubi..... WOW

This raises a point of what it should be called. Some synonyms: Accelerator Throttle (though in a diesel context, also a bit of a misnomer) "Go" pedal Power pedal Thrust lever (aviation term, but I like) Governor Regulator
  17. Progress of building and delivering the Eco-Diesel

Ok, she's on a truck FOR REAL this time. Should have it by today or tomorrow!
  18. Round trip to mountains with 6850 lb travel trailer (max tow, 2” spacer lift/34s)

Manufacturer's max payload and max tow ratings are to legally protect the manufacturer if you do something stupid and cause an accident. They are NOT there to legally protect YOU if you do something stupid, regardless of whether what you're hauling or towing happens to be under or over the...
