    from experience, even just 5 minutes is enough to not make a mess. I think that's what it says in the book too.

    Have you tried to call a different dealer in the area? Might get a more sensible approach.

    There's a decent chance the oil pump isn't bad, but the oil pressure sensor was tricked with this filter cap torqueing issue. I removed and retorqued my filter earlier this month and haven't seen the error since...if I ever do I'll be sure to update this thread.

    Agreed. Nobody else has touched mine since the day it left the lot. Will have to suck it up for the recalls. HPFF and the tailgate latch together in one appt...minimize exposure to dealerships.

    You're fine. The first interval the engine is still breaking in. I change my oil every 7500 mi. Including the first interval, as it were. I'm at 22,5 now, my third change. Oh that reminds me, i need to send in my oil samples.

    I have not, but it doesn't sound scary. It maybe could possibly be a 4wd road. Hmm. From the description, it sounds passable in a Honda, definitely a Subaru.
